A 5-hour-old male newborn on the postnatal ward is noticed by the midwife because
he looks blue around the lips and tongue.
On examination the baby is not dysmorphic, Heart rate is 160 beats/min, femoral pulses are

جواب الحالة الأولى:-
The commonest cause of congenital stridor is laryngomalacia.
Laryngomalacia can be exacerbated by intercurrent respiratory infections.
جواب الحالة الثانية:-
Laryngotracheobronchitis is the commonest cause of acute stridor.
Croup typically occurs in children aged 6 months to 5 years.
The upper airway of a child with stridor should not be examined as this may
precipitate total obstruction.

A 35-year-old woman was admitted to University Hospital with complaints of dysphagia and vomiting after every meal and 5 kg of weight loss for 1 month.

A 69 year old woman with no relevant past medical history was admitted with dysphagia.
She reported difficulty swallowing both solids and liquids and that it had been gradually worsening over a 10 year period.
