This is the easiest conditional sentence to remember because the structure is simply: If + Present simple (condition), present simple (result) Some other examples are, ☕ If I drink too much coffee, I can't sleep at night. ❄ Ice melts if you heat it. 🌞 When the sun goes down, it gets dark.

Let’s have a glance at zero conditional sentences for today. The zero conditional is called the factual conditional. We use the zero conditional to talk about habits, facts and truths, especially for laws and rules. We are not talking about possibilities, we are always talking about facts.

Now that we have mastered the basic structure, let’s look at the four common types of conditional sentences. 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️ 0 If I get sick, I go to the doctor. 1 If I get sick, I will go to the doctor. 2 If I got sick, I would go to the doctor. 3 If I had been sick, I would have gone to the doctor.

2. result + if + condition This is the opposite of the first structure. So for example, 👕 I will buy a shirt if the shop is open. Note we do not use a comma in this structure. Both sentences mean the same thing but are said in a different way.

Then we have a result: I will buy a shirt. Please note that when we write in this structure we use a comma after the condition.

Let’s look at the two basic structures of a conditional sentence: 1. if + condition + result For example, 👕 If the shop opens, I will buy a shirt. So we have the condition first: if the shop is open.

So in a conditional sentence if the condition is true, then the results will happen.

The second part is a result or consequence. In our example the result is: I will take an umbrella.

Conditional sentence has two parts. The first part is a condition (a condition is a situation or circumstance.) The condition in this sentence is: if it rains.
