The Cippus Perusinus, a stone tablet bearing 46 lines of incised Etruscan text, one of the longest extant Etruscan inscriptions. 3rd or 2nd century ᴮᶜ. It was discovered on the hill of San Marco, near Perugia, Italy, in 1822. The cippus is assumed to be a text dedicating a legal contract between the Etruscan families of Velthina (from Perugia) and Afuna (from Chiusi), regarding the sharing or use of a property upon which there was a tomb belonging to the noble Velthinas. #AA @FaithAndFolk2

Australian Frontier Wars: Waterloo Creek Massacre (26 Jan 1838) Result: Colonial victory, Aboriginals driven from Gwydir River territory. Was a battle at Waterloo Creek between Kamilaroi Aboriginals and Sydney mounted police. Sydney mounted police (2 sergeants, 20 troopers) led by Major James Nunn pursued the Kamilaroi to upper Gwydir River, following the murder of 5 British stockmen in recently established pastoral runs on the upper Gwydir River area of New South Wales. On the morning of Jan 26, there was a surprise attack on Nunn's party, leaving Corporal Hannan wounded with a spear in his leg and 5 dead Aboriginals. The Aboriginals fled down river and the remaining British pursued them, led by Lieutenant George Cobban. Cobban's party found their quarry about a mile down the river at a point now known as Waterloo Creek, where a second engagement took place. The encounter lasted several hours and no Aboriginals were captured. Modern estimates put at 300 dead Aboriginals with no British casualties.

ᴬᴬ Definitely not Atlantis, but nonetheless calls into question the official timeline of human development. "Found in 2001 by a company doing surveying work, the sonar images have shown symmetrical and geometric structures that covers an area of 200 ha (almost 2 square km) at depths between 2,000 and 2,460 feet (± 700 m). Skeptics believe the site is too deep to be manmade as it is estimated that it would have taken the structures 50,000 years to sink to their current depth. If conclusive proof can be found that these structures were indeed manmade, it would back up the Maya and local Yucatecos stories of an ancient island inhabited by their ancestors that vanished beneath the sea" #AA @FaithAndFolk2
