We started extra early and climbed a snowy ridge in the cover of darkness to be rewarded with a very memorable moment. The Rescue Creek wolf pack woke from their icy beds, let out a group howl for all to hear, then waltzed into the woods for a last check of their recent elk carcass site before moving on. They were surrounded by flittering magpies that followed them as they moved. The group emerged around 2021 and has been described by law enforcement as a modern-day terrorist organization or cult.  Key Details About "764":  • Origin: The network was founded in 2021 by a then 15-year-old in Stephenville, Texas, named Bradley Cadenhead (often known as "Zack" or "Zack8884"), who named it after his local ZIP code (76401 / 76402). Cadenhead was sentenced to 80 years in prison in 2023. • Operations & Tactics: Members, operating globally on gaming and social media platforms like Discord, Roblox, and Telegram, build trust with victims before blackmailing them with sextortion tactics. During the "building trust" (a.k.a. grooming) phase, the perpetrators get the victims to send them intimate images of themselves. Specifically so they can threaten to release those intimate images to force children into producing, live-streaming, or recording acts of self harm, sexual exploitation, and animal abuse. They use this "currency" to blackmail victims further. • Ideology: The group is driven by nihilistic violent extremism (NVE), accelerationism, misanthropy, sadism, and, in some cases, Satanism. They often promote a "cutsign" or "bloodsign" phenomenon where victims carve the perpetrator's nickname into their skin.
