Laying out drains
1. The most distinctive feature of Harappan cities were the carefully planned drainage system.
2. roads and streets were laid out along and approximate on a great pattern intersecting at right angle (90°)
3. it seems that streets with drains were laid out first then the houses built along them.
4. Every house has drainds and needed to have at least one wall along a street.
5. Domestic wastewater had to flow into the street drains.
Mohenjodaro
mohenjoDaro was one of the largest Harappan site founded. and much that is divided into two sections one is the citadel and other was lowertown
Citadel:
1. it is smaller but higher
2. It was constructed on mud brick platforms which makes it higher in size.
3. It was walled means it was physically separated from the lowertown.
4. Special buildings were found such as great bath and warehouse.
Lowertown:
1. It is much larger but lower
2. It on platforms which serves as foundation
3 . Low town was also walled.
4. there are some distinctive feature of lower town is planned drainage system.
5. the domestic architecture of lower town provides example of the lifestyle of the people.
