SQLite is a relational database that provides features such as tables, columns, SQL queries, indexes, joins, and constraints. In other words, it is designed for structured data management.

LMDB was originally developed as part of the OpenLDAP project. Its main purpose was to provide OpenLDAP with a fast, reliable storage backend that supported transactions. Later, LMDB evolved into a widely used standalone embedded database.
