✅Day 5: Diagramification of your Mains Answer 🏹Theme: Irrigation: sits right at the junction of GS1 (Water Resources) and GS3 (Agriculture). Groundwater depletion, monsoon dependence, PMKSY, Per Drop More Crop, everything flows from here. 📌Best part: you don't need to draw all three. Pick the one your question demands. 🩷 Groundwater crisis question → Sources pie (62% wells & tubewells... now you know where the water table went 🙂) 🩷 Monsoon dependence / rainfed farming → Coverage pie (43.6% of net sown area still waits for rain) 🩷Water-use efficiency / micro-irrigation → 14% pie (that gap itself is your "way forward" point) One theme prepared, three different questions covered. This is how toppers make one page of prep serve five answers. 💡GS1,2,3,4 Diagram Booklets on Civil Services Compass app (click here to download app) researched diagrams mapped theme-wise for Mains ✉️Keep following us for more such updates

🚨 DAY 11: 30 DAYS ETHICS ENRICHMENT SERIES 📚 Topic: Doctrine of Double Effect 📖 Meaning: The Doctrine of Double Effect is an ethical principle that justifies actions that have two effects: one intended and good, and the other unintended but foreseen as bad. It has the following features: 1. Two Effects: The action leads to two effects—one positive (intended) and one negative (unintended but foreseen). 2. Moral Distinction: The negative effect is not directly intended, but the person acts to achieve the good effect, knowing the bad effect will follow. 3. Proportionality: The good effect must outweigh the bad effect in terms of moral significance or importance. 4. No Direct Intention: The harmful outcome must not be directly willed or intended. It is a side effect of the action. ✏️ Examples: 1️⃣ In medical ethics, a doctor administering high doses of painkillers to relieve severe pain may foresee the risk of shortening life but does not intend the death. The intention is pain relief, not death. 💬 Key Quote: "The good effect must be at least as great as the bad effect." —John Finnis 👉 Application: 1️⃣ Use this concepts in questions related to Ethical Dilemma. 2️⃣ Almost all the case studies in the paper ask us to take some action in Ethical Dilemma. Use this concept to justify your course of action. In ethics, nothing is completely right or completely wrong. You just need to justify your course of action through some thinkers’ concept or idea. Hit ❤️ if you found this useful. 📎 Stay Updated : @upscandbeyondd

Notemaking for Mains: Making Notes Of Newspaper Context: This article was published when COP29 negotiations were underway.. I created this mind-map to depict how you should make notes from newspapers. You don't have to make lengthy notes. Simplify the information you come across into simple sub-headings and concise statements. Make a note of the facts. Newspaper are a source of great value addition. These dimensions are rarely covered in other sources like magazines. Above all, the real utility of these notes lie in application of these across multiple GS papers, not just one.

Stop Waiting for "Perfect" 🚀 Hey guys! Wanted to share something that hit me today. 💭 You know that feeling when you're drowning in UPSC material and you keep telling yourself, "I'll start serious revision after finishing just ONE more reading"? Or "I'll attempt mocks when I feel more confident"? Been there, done that. SO MANY TIMES. 😅 I realized I was stuck in this loop of waiting for the "perfect moment" to really kickstart my preparation. But here's the truth I had to face: that perfect moment? It never comes. Never. 🙅‍♂️ My breaking point came when I was on my 5th reading of Spectrum and still didn't feel "ready enough" to take a test. That's when it hit me - if I keep waiting to feel 100% prepared, I'll still be waiting on exam day! 😱 What changed things for me was accepting that: - No topper ever felt completely ready (talked to a few, trust me on this!) - Every mock test I was avoiding was actually a learning opportunity slipping away - My friends who were seeing progress weren't necessarily smarter - they were just DOING instead of planning to do 📝 So here are some changes you can make: - Start taking those mocks even though you are scoring terribly at first (I scored 19 in my first ever mock!!!). Each wrong answer taught me something new! 📊 - Stop trying to achieve the same depth in every subject (impossible!) and focused on high-yield topics first. 🌍 - Study smaller chunks and immediately test yourself, rather than massive study sessions followed by massive revision. The feedback is immediate and it WORKS. ⚡️ - Most importantly, stop beating myself up for not knowing everything. This journey isn't about perfection - it's about consistent improvement. 📈 For anyone feeling stuck or overwhelmed right now, just take that first imperfect step. Solve those tests you bought but are now catching dust. Tick them off one by one. Take mocks when you're only 60% ready. On the exam day, you'll only wish you had done more of this!!! Because in UPSC (and life), progress beats perfection. Every. Single. Time. 💪 ~Prashant Gupta 📎 Stay Updated : @upscandbeyondd
