Fragments of a Cyberpunk Novella

An old idea for a novella inspired by 'Jacob's Shadow', from Deus Ex 2001

Repost from A Forest Passage
A while ago I played with the idea of writing a cyberpunk/thriller novella, inspired by (and hopefully not borderline plagiarised from) chapters from a fictitious work called 'Jacob's Shadow' that appears in the original Deus Ex game from 2001. This was created in the style of William Gibson by Chris Todd, one of the game's writers, and can be found at this link. I originally published these in separate Telegram posts, with continuations in the comments, but due to Chinese crypto-spammers (this is why we can't have nice things) I shut these down. Some of you seemed to like them, so here they are again on Substack.
