Elon Musk pulls out of $44bn deal to buy Twitter
Elon Musk is officially trying to pull out of his $44 billion agreement to purchase Twitter. In a filing Friday afternoon with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Muskâs team claims he is terminating the deal because Twitter was in âmaterial breachâ of their agreement and had made âfalse and misleadingâ statements during negotiations.
âFor nearly two months, Mr. Musk has sought the data and information necessary to âmake an independent assessment of the prevalence of fake or spam accounts on Twitterâs platform,ââ Muskâs legal team writes. âTwitter has failed or refused to provide this information.â

Stranger Things 4, the most recent season of the hit show, just became the second Netflix show ever to surpass a billion hours viewed. Since the first installment of the season dropped on May 27th, viewers have spent a cumulative 1.15 billion hours watching the seasonâs nine episodes, including 301 million hours just this past weekend. That makes Stranger Things 4 the second most-watched Netflix season ever, after Squid Game in 2021.

Engineer Removes the Entire Hub From His Bicycle, and It Still Works
The engineer crafted and welded a new entire external system that ensures the bike still works.
When you think of a bicycle, you think of its wheels. Those wheels need to be equipped with spokes and a frame to function properly. Right? Apparently, no.
YouTuber engineer The Q transforms his bike into a hubless vehicle by removing the entire internal hub from the wheels of his bicycle. This is no easy feat and takes a lot of time and effort.
He outright replaces these parts of the bicycle, creating a whole new foundation, and voila, the bike does not fall apart. This video brings you that whole process from beginning to end.
Indeed, you can watch as The Q decides to alter his bike and then proceeds to remove many parts and create new ones. It's quite an adventure to go on and you can't help but wonder what inspired The Q to take on such a lofty task.

A team of researchers has successfully restored partial vision to a blind man using a new kind of gene therapy, according to a recent study published in the journal Nature Medicine. đ
This is a major milestone for a gene-based therapy that can effectively reverse a state of near-total blindness, and it involves injecting patients in the eye and then activating genes with light-producing goggles. "The findings provide proof of concept that using optogenetic therapy to partially restore vision is possible," said Botond Roska, the founding director at the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Opthalmology in Basel, according to a Technology Networks report. đ§Ź

Mojo Vision, a California-based company that wants to make augmented reality (AR) capable smart contact lenses, has already conducted the first human trial of its technology. Last week, the company's CEO Drew Perkins became the first person to use the contact lenses and shared his experience in a blog post. đď¸
It was only a few months ago, that we reported how Mojo Vision is working on these smart contact lenses capable of projecting images while sitting on the eye. The company aims to achieve this by packing the world's densest display on a surface that is not more than 0.5 mm in diameter.đ§

đĄThe European Space Agency (ESA) is performing an overdue upgrade on its Mars orbiter.
đĄEngineers from ESA are preparing to upgrade the software for their Mars orbiter, called Mars Express, from Windows 98, a press statement reveals.
đĄThe Mars Express spacecraft launched in 2003, and has been orbiting the red planet for more than 19 years. All that time, Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionospheric Sounding (MARSIS) instrument has been using software built with Windows 98.
đĄ"We've faced a number of challenges to improve the performance of MARSIS," Carlo Nenna, MARSIS on-board software engineer at Enginium, who is responsible for the upgrade, explained in the statement. "Not least because the MARSIS software was originally designed over 20 years ago".
