✅ Seagrasses:
Seagrasses are marine flowering plants. They are not true grasses and are more closely related to terrestrial lilies and gingers than grasses.
They often grow in large groups giving the appearance of terrestrial grassland – an underwater meadow.
They have roots, stems and leaves and produce flowers and fruits. They are the only flowering plants that can live underwater.
They are found in salty and brackish waters from the tropics to the Arctic Circle.
They thrive in shallow coastal waters where there is shelter from drying winds, wave action, and strong currents.
The depth of seagrass is usually controlled by the availability of light for photosynthesis.
Seagrasses reproduce through both sexual and asexual methods.
Important seagrasses: Sea Cow Grass, Thready Seagrass, Needle Seagrass, Flat-tipped Seagrass, etc.
In India, Seagrasses occur all along the coastal areas of India and are abundant in the Palk Strait and Gulf of Mannar in Tamil Nadu.

They are water mammals found along the coasts of the Pacific Ocean in North America and Asia.
Unlike other marine mammals, they have no blubber to protect them from hypothermia.
Sea otters are key players in the health of the kelp forests they inhabit.
IUCN Status: Endangered.
Threats: Oil spills and run-off from the land containing chemicals and disease-causing organisms.

| 4 |  ✅Large Language Model (LLM):
A LLM is an AI program capable of recognising and generating text. LLMs are trained on vast datasets using machine learning and deep learning, particularly transformer models that mimic the human brain's neural structure.
LLMs typically rely on transformer models, consisting of an encoder and a decoder. LLMs can be categorised based on architecture, training data, size, and availability.
LLMs are used for generative AI tasks like producing text, assisting programmers with coding, and various applications like sentiment analysis and chatbots.
They excel at understanding natural language and processing complex data, but can also provide unreliable information or "hallucinate" responses if given poor input data, and pose security risks if misused.

| 5 |  Smart Cities Mission(SCM):
It is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), launched on 25 June, 2015.
Its objective is to promote cities -
- To ensure a decent quality of life to their citizens through the application of ‘smart solutions’.
- To drive economic growth through comprehensive work on social, economic, physical and institutional pillars of the city.
- To drive sustainable and inclusive development.
100 cities were selected for five years under the mission, which did not clearly define a smart city.
- The Central Government will give financial support to the extent of Rs. 48,000 crores over 5 years i.e. on an average Rs.100 crore per city per year.
- An equal amount on a matching basis is to be provided by the State/ULB.
The mission that was to be completed in 2020, was given two extensions till June 2024.

It was established in 1964 and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

UNCTAD's work focuses on four main areas:

It is a nodal agency for the holistic development of the seafood industry in India and the realisation of its export potential.
It was established in 1972 under Marine Products Export Development Authority Act (MPEDA), 1972.
It functions under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀: It envisages the development of seafood production, processing, marketing, and exports in India.
The Government of India recommends new standards for fishing vessels, storage premises, processing plants, and conveyances based on the recommendations of MPEDA.
𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: The MPEDA enrols exporters, lays down quality standards, liaisons with importers to boost exports and conducts capacity-building programmes like training, awareness campaigns for relevant stakeholders to increase production and productivity.

| 10 |  Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary:
It was established in 1994 and is located within a large forest area.
It is situated near the Betwa River (a tributary of the Yamuna), in the border region between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, contributing to its unique ecosystem and biodiversity.
Fauna Species:
- It is home to a diverse range of fauna, including spotted deer, Blue Bull, Peacock, Wild pig, Monkey, Jackal, Nilgai, Sloth Bear, and various bird species.
- Birdwatching is particularly popular, with around 200 bird species found in the sanctuary's river ecosystem. These include both resident birds and migratory species such as peafowls, peacocks, swans, Jungle Bush Quail, minivet, etc.
Forest Types:
It has southern tropical dry deciduous forests. The sanctuary features dense plantations of Dhawa Trees, Kardhai Trees, Teak, Palaash, and Khair, contributing to its rich biodiversity and natural ambiance.
