Indeed, very many of us are completely cutoff from reality.
On a flight to Nairobi one time with my friends, we were discussing how far away we have grown from the main realities of life on the streets, because all of us came from the bottom. We all experienced the struggle and pain of having nothing.
We discussed extensively about the sufferings of people and how out of touch we have become as a result of growth and the privileges that comes with a little change in levels.
Indeed, privilege can be blinding.
Today, I saw a video on TikTok where a woman (who I believe should be in her early 40s) said she has never had N100k in her whole life.
Then it hit me.
Someone who has lived over 40 years has never had N100k? Jesu Oluwa!
If I check myself and all I have is N1m, I will fall sick. I will be restless. I will lose appetite. My pr!ck no go fit rise. My left nipple no go dey sensitive to touch. Nothing will ever make sense to me anymore until I get my bread up.
I don’t even know why I’m typing this, but please be kind in your dealings with people. Offer help when you can. A lot of people are indeed going through some unimaginable things in this country.
