| 2 | Back in the old days when bananas were new to the United States, two Mississippi guys were taking their first train ride.
اون قدیما که موز تازه وارد آمریکا شده بود، دو آقای اهل میسیسیپی برای اولین بار سوار قطار بودند.
A vendor came down the corridor selling bananas which they had never seen before. They gawked at the exotic fruit and decided to try them.
یک دستفروش از راهروی قطار رد میشد و موز میفروخت که آنها قبلا هرگز ندیده بودند. آنها احمقانه به این میوهی عجیب و غریب خیره شدند و تصمیم گرفتند که آن را امتحان کنند.
Each bought one! The first one eagerly peeled the banana and bit into it as the train went into a tunnel!
هر کدام یک موز خریدند. اولی با اشتیاق پوست موز را کند و همانطور که قطار وارد تونل شد موز را گاز زد.
When the train emerged from the tunnel he looked at his friend aghast and confused like he had seen a ghost and said:
وقتی قطار از تونل خارج شد او وحشتزده و سردرگم به دوستش نگاه کرد طوری که انگار جن دیده بود و گفت:
-"I wouldn't eat it, If I were you!.
اگه جای تو بودم نمیخوردمش.
- "Why not?" His friend asked.
دوستش پرسید: چرا نه؟
He said: "I just took one bite and went blind for half a minute!"
او گفت: من فقط یک لقمه خوردم و سی ثانیه کور شدم.

| 10 | 🌺 نکته اول: "لطفی" که در حق کسی انجام میدیم در زبان انگلیسی favour میشه و جبران کردن لطف کسی رو با فعل return بیان میکنند. مثال:
I "retuned his favour" by giving him a ticket to the movie.
من با دادن بلیت فیلم به او لطفش را جبران کردم.
🌺 یک اصطلاح در زبان فارسی وجود داره بنام "گل و بلبل شدن اوضاع" این اصطلاح رو میتونیم بصورتی که در این پست آوردم با استفاده از کلمه rosy بیان کنیم.
Thigs get rosy.
اوضاع گل و بلبل شد.
🌺 اصطلاح fall for something یعنی گول چیزی رو خوردن.

آیا شما داستانی که چند روز پیش درباره سنجاب دانا پست کردم رو باور میکنید؟ من خیلی بهش مشکوکم!
For one thing, there are thousands of stories like this on the Internet. And they have more or less the same structure!
اولا، هزاران داستان شبیه این توی اینترنت وجود داره. و این داستانها کم و بیش ساختار یکسانی دارند.
In these stories there is always an animal that is injured or is in trouble in one way or another.
در این داستانها همیشه حیوانی هست که زخمی شده یا بشکلی دچار مشکله.
And then a human being comes along and takes care of it. And sorts out the dire situation.
بعد یه آدم پیداش میشه و ازش مراقبت میکنه. و اون وضعیت وخیم رو درست میکنه.
And then things get rosy. And afterwards the animal either develops an attachment to that person ….
و بعد اوضاع گل و بلبل میشه. و بعدش اون حیوون یا به اون آدم دلبسته میشه ….
or return their favour in one way or another! I think these are made-up stories that people make up to get more likes and views!
یا بشکلی لطفش رو جبران میکنه! من فکر میکنم اینها داستانهای ساختگیاند که آدمها میسازند تا لایک و بازدید بگیرن.
Because they know we are a bunch of simpletons who fall for such stories.
چون اونا میدونن که ما یک مشت آدم سادهلوح هستیم که گول چنین داستانهایی رو میخوریم.
I'm not saying that all of these stories are outright fake! There is a degree of truth to most of them.
نمیگم همهی این داستانها کاملا ساختگی هستند. درجهای از حقیقت در بیشترشون وجود داره.
Because it's not unusual for people to help animals. But animals do not have a sense of gratitude.
چون غیرعادی نیست که آدمها به حیوانات کمک کنند. اما حیوانات احساس قدرشناسی ندارند.
The sense of gratitude is very rare in nature. It seems a prerogative of human beings.
حس قدرشناسی در طبیعت بسیار نادره. بنظر میاد که ویژگی خاص انسان باشه.
And not all people are grateful! We all know some really ungrateful people.
و همهی آدمها هم قدر شناس نیستند. همه ما آدمهایی رو میشناسیم واقعا قدرنشناس هستند.
But in the animal kingdom gratitude is almost non-existent. Maybe dogs are an exception. As dogs are truly grateful.
اما در دنیای حیوانات قدرشناسی تقریبا ناموجود است. شاید سگها یک استثنا باشند. چرا که سگها واقعا قدرشناس هستند.
And maybe some higher order animals like elephants or chimpanzees.
و شاید برخی حیوانات تکامل یافتهتر مانند فیلها یا شامپانزهها.
But I have seen video stories about snails being grateful, or snakes or lizards returning a man's favour! Ridiculous!
اما من داستانهای ویدویی دیدهام دربارهی قدرشناس بودن حلزونها، یا مارها و مارمولکهایی که لطف یک آدم رو جبران میکنند! مسخره است!
Some of you may say: Now what the hell? We just wanna learn some English, not the truth about animals.
برخی از شما ممکنه بگید: خب چه اهمیتی داره؟ ما فقط میخوایم یه مقدار انگلیسی یاد بگیریم، نه حقیقت دربارهی حیوانات رو!
I agree with you! I just felt it's on me to tell you the truth about these stories.
با شما موافقم! فقط احساس کردم وظیفه دارم که حقیقت رو دربارهی این داستانها به شما بگم.
