#GS_FACTS Watermeal (Wolffia globosa) 🎯It is the smallest flowering plant in the world. 🎯It is a type of aquatic plant that belongs to the duckweed family (Lemnaceae). 🎯It is a free-floating plant that forms dense colonies on the surface of calm, slow-moving freshwater bodies. 🎯It has a simple structure, lacking roots, stems, and leaves. The entire plant consists of a tiny, spherical or ovoid structure called a frond. 🎯It is a rich source of protein, essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, making it a potential staple food for astronauts. 🎯Recently, scientists are exploring the potential of watermeal as a sustainable food source for future space missions. 🎯It may become an essential astronaut food source and an efficient oxygen generator for future space missions.

#GS_FACTS Fujianvenator 🔹Scientists have named the recently unearthed fossil of a Jurassic Period dinosaur as Fujianvenator prodigiosus. 🔹It is an extinct genus of anchiornithid avialan dinosaur. 🔹It was a small, feathered dinosaur with a long tail and a wingspan of about 1 meter. 🔹The fossil was found in Fujian Province, China. 🔹It is a creature that sheds light on our understanding of the evolution of birds.

#GS_FACTS Atmospheric Perturbations Around The Eclipse Path (APEP) Mission 🎯It is a NASA-funded project to study how a solar eclipse affects the upper atmosphere. 🎯It aims to study how the sudden drop in sunlight affects our upper atmosphere. 🎯The mission will involve launching of three sounding rockets equipped with scientific instruments into the path of an eclipse to measure changes in electric and magnetic fields, density, and temperature. 🎯APEP mission will study mainly the ionosphere. 🎯During a solar eclipse, the sunlight vanishes and reappears over a small part of the landscape almost at once. 🎯In a flash, ionospheric temperature and density drop, then rise again, sending waves rippling through the ionosphere.

#GS_FACTS Protein binders 🔹Protein binders are molecules that can interact with specific proteins, forming complexes. 🔹Protein binders are used in a variety of applications, including food processing, pharmaceuticals, and research. 🔹In pharmaceuticals, protein binders are used to deliver drugs to specific targets in the body. 🔹In food processing, protein binders are used to improve the texture and stability of food products. 🔹Recently, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) clarified that addition of protein binders in milk and milk products are not permitted. 🔹Further, only those additives can be used in milk and milk products which are specified for such products in the Appendix A of the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulation, 2011.

#GS_FACTS Fischer-Tropsch process 🎯It is a chemical reaction used to synthesize hydrocarbons, primarily from carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2). 🎯This process converts syngas (a mixture of H2 and CO) into hydrocarbons mainly for fuel applications. 🎯This process is a key method for converting coal, natural gas, or biomass into synthetic fuels, including diesel and other liquid hydrocarbons. 🎯It is known for its importance in the production of synthetic fuels and plays a crucial role in the energy and chemical industries. 🎯This process is commonly used to produce cleaner-burning and renewable fuels.
