❌ Testing for H.pylori in patients with GERD is NOT recommended

✅ Patients with known osteoporosis can remain on PPI therapy ✅ Concomitant use of PPIs and clopidogrel appears safe

🔷 EGD to screen for Barrett’s esophagus (BE) in patients with risk factors, include: ● Duration of GERD of at least 5 to 10 years ● ± frequent GERD sx (at least weekly) ● + >2 of the following: Age ≥ 50 years-old Male sex ♂ White (Caucasian) race Hiatal hernia Obesity Nocturnal reflux 😴 Tobacco use (past or current) 🚬 1st-degree relative with Barrett's esophagus ± adenocarcinoma 🔷 Confirmed Barrett’s esophagus: 🔸 NO dysplasia → EGD every 3-5y 🔸 Dysplasia → Endoscopic Tx
