More companies are intending to increase their #headcount in the June quarter compared to the ongoing quarter, Economic Times reports, citing a survey by staffing firm ManpowerGroup. Around 12% of the employers covered said they will #hire more people in the April-June period compared to 8% in the January-March period. Around 2% said they plan to reduce their employee base while 53% said they expect no change to their payroll. One-third of the employers said they were unsure. While India remains resilient in the job market recovery, the Budget impetus towards job creation will only be seen in Q3 and Q4 of 2021, ManpowerGroup India group MD Sandeep Gulati said. Large employers with 250+ employees reported the strongest hiring prospects. Going forward, more than one in four of 1,183 Indian employers said they may return to pre-COVID hiring by June.
