Drop and hook involves a driver dropping their trailer at a customer's yard and picking up a new one. This process is appointment-based, reducing waiting time and eliminating the need for driver loading or unloading. What is Live Load? Live load, or "dock bumping," requires the driver to back their trailer to the warehouse and wait while it's loaded or unloaded, usually taking around two hours but varying based on several factors. Which One’s Better? Drop and hooks are generally preferred for their speed and efficiency, but they come with potential risks. Live loads are more straightforward but time-consuming. The better option depends on individual circumstances and preferences.
