•Pediatrics
🪶Books and sources:
1-Nelson textbook of Pediatrics: recommended by the department, too big, dense, has no pics or illustrations!, it has a shortened version 1000 pages only :/
2-Illustrated Textbook of Paediatrics: As it names it’s illustrated, less dense than Nelson and recommended by (rotation & shelf) honored students.
3-Case File pediatrics: Case file- Does a good job of going over the most high yield scenarios in pediatrics and explaining the management of each, fine as a secondary resource.
4-BRS Pediatrics- most thorough review books for Pediatrics, plus its questions which goes over its reviewed material, dis: it’s dense.
5-FA:does a great job of giving you the majority (overview) of what you need to know, used to skim through material quickly

•OB/GYN
🪶Books and sources:
1-Gyncology by ten doctors: Most recommended by step2 ck students, has New self assessment sections are presented consistently throughout, with detailed clinical scenarios for each subject.
2-Blueprints Obstetrics and Gynecology: great reference but is very in-depth. Better used for selected high-yield chapters.
3-High yield Gynecology obstetrics: Excellent review book and a quick read, Use as a secondary textbook—or primary if used in conjunction with plenty of questions (Uworld)
4-Case Files Obstetrics and Gynecology: great review resource with 60 high-yield cases and questions
5-Step-Up to Obstetrics & Gynecology: as usual of step up; outline format, Quick hits, mnemonics, and charts.

•Surgery
🪶Books and resource:
1-Pestana's Surgery Notes: short and concise, full of high-yield information, recommended in the early rotation.
2-Surgical recall: great, overlaps the pimping questions, but not necessarily needed on the shelf (theory) exam.
3-Surgery: A Case Based Clinical Review by De Virgilio: probably this the the best book you could have in medical school ever
4-NMS surgery: goes over different cases and case variations, Explanations are short and to the point with very little fluff and there are some practice questions as well.
5-Bailey & Love's Short practice of surgery: recommended by our department, didn’t find it in any article (not surprised) it’s too long.. though it has a shortened edition.
6-Case File Surgery: As always, 60 realistic cases.
🪶Best clinical books:
•Browse + Hamilton: Both recommended by our department, Browse is more organized, easy-to-read and it’s ’GIT’ section can benefits in shelf (theory) Exam too.
•Clinical cases and OSCES in surgery: makes you familiar with what you are expected to do in each case or OSCE station being thrown at you, Tip boxes are life saving. Only 1 disadvantage: Too many cases, so take what U need.

•Medicine
🪶Books and resources:
1-Davidson's Principles: traditional, recommended by our department, it’s not the best book you can rely on. The pathophysiology isn’t so good, however it has the best management section and charts.
2-Harrison's Principles : The godfather of medicine. Up to date and detailed, the only disadvantage it’s too long, luckily there’s shortened version for undergraduates.
• Manual: shortened version
3-Step up to medicine: breaks concepts down in easy-to-read format, has high yield points called "Quick Hits", assists medical students in surviving their clinical years.
4-Oxford Handbook of clinical medicine: This book was banned from various UK medical schools for making medicine “too easy”, but by 2003 had made it onto several reading lists, including Royal Free London, with the comment “everybody owns this!!”.
5-Case file IM: 60 realistic cases with concise discussion teaches how to approach to clinical problems.
🪶Best clinical books
•Macleod's Clinical Examination: sister of Davidson, recommended by the department. Note that the tables of the 13th edition is more than the 14th.
-only tables.
•”Rajoj’s clinical” by Abdul-Hamza Rajoj: The best, meets the needs of the undergraduate & postgraduate doctors, all the data given have been taken from the current medical textbooks. Though it has a free examination course by the doctor.
•Clinical Examination essentials: helps you to organize your thoughts when doing your Hx or Ex
•Approach to symptoms: file to each symptom, could help.
