Health Regulations case against Minister of Health by Att. Pillay & Adv. Sibanda This group has been formulated on this case which is challenging the Minister on the constitutional grounds of discriminating 90% of the people of South Africa who were left out in the consultation process because their languages were excluded. It is also challenging Parliament on its failure to protect the rights of the people of South Africa where the application of executive powers is concerned. The case against the Minister is being championed by Goab King Cornelius III of the Khoi khoi and Women of Justice. In early July 2022, Goab King Cornelius asked the Minister to translate the regulations to KhoeKhoegoab and Afrikaans. The Minister totally ignored the correspondence and did not respond. Now the Court is being asked to compel him to respond to the King's letter. Other language groups are being asked to join the case. The Applicants on the case are not funded; the King is not funded by government or any other entity and Women of Justice is a community based organisation with no funding. There is need for them to raise funds for disbursements like service of process and also to help the Legal Team who are working pro-bono for this particular case, just as they did with the Action 4 Freedom case against the Minister of Health, to extend the public participation period to 3 months.
