Hello my dear friends, tomorrow is Tsog day 6th Sept! Whenever Tsog falls on a Sunday, we have our Tsog gathering at 2pm to 3pm. Welcome to join in tomorrow, it will be the final session of Guru Puja and Tsog led by our Resident Teacher Geshe Thupten Samten (with the other 3 resident monks). After our recent Vajra, Bell and Mudras class, we do encourage all friends and students to bring along your ritual implements for regular usage and practise at the twice monthly Guru Puja and Tsog gathering. Welcome! . . . Geshe Thupten Samten has completed 3 wonderful years of service - teaching and guiding us tirelessly the past three years. Geshe-la is returning back to the Monastery to be with his students! Geshe will fly back to India on 13th Sept, next Sunday via SQ510. Do be at T3 airport at 5:30pm should you wish to give Geshe la a final warm send-off. 🙏🥰✨

Dear friends 🥰🙏🏻 As I shared at our recent Vajrasattva Fire Puja, our Resident Teacher, Geshe Thupten Samten, has now completed three years of service at GSDPL and will soon be returning to the Monastery. 🙏🏻❤️ Tomorrow will be Geshe-la’s final class with us — Vajra, Bell & Mudras, from 3:00pm to 5:30pm, with a refreshment break in between. For those who have your own vajra and bell set, do bring them along for the practical session. If you do not have a set, no worries — the Centre have some sets available, you could borrow and practise with them during the class. 😊🙏🏻 At the end of tomorrow’s class, we will also have a little farewell for Geshe-la, as we thank him for his three years of teaching, guidance and service to GSDPL. Geshe-la has been a most kind, compassionate, patient and dedicated Teacher for all of us during his stay here. We are so grateful! 🙏🏻❤️ Geshe-la’s return flight has been confirmed for Sunday, 13 September, on SQ510. Why? 😅 Facebook has recently introduced a new system where I would need to pay an additional fee in order to include URL links in post captions! Our very first hands-on practical class on “Vajra, Bell & Mudras” with our Resident Teacher, Geshe Thupten Samten la — and what an enjoyable and incredibly fun class it was! 😍🙏🏻🔔 There was such a beautiful atmosphere in the hall. Everyone was genuinely open and supportive towards one another — learning together, helping one another, correcting one another, and learning from each other along the way. It was such joyful vibes! ❤️ We began with the theory, clearly interpreted for us by the very competent Voula Zarpani, before moving on to actually practising how to hold and use the vajra and bell correctly. To make sure that everyone received proper guidance, Geshe Thupten Samten had specially requested four other Geshes to come down and assist us. We broke into smaller groups and had the wonderful opportunity to learn directly from Geshe Tashi Nyima, Geshe Jangchup Nyendak, Geshe Lobsang Jinpa and Geshe Tenpa Choden. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 They were all so kind, patient and helpful, carefully guiding us through the movements and correcting us along the way. Then came our class break… except most classmates were so engrossed in practising that nobody seemed particularly interested in taking a break. 😂😂 And just when we thought we were getting the hang of things, Geshe Thupten Samten surprised us with an impromptu “exam”! 😆 But the “exam” turned out to be one of the most useful parts of the entire class. As we watched everyone take their turn, we repeatedly saw the common mistakes and heard Geshe la emphasise the important points again and again. By the end of the session, something that had initially felt unfamiliar became so much clearer and more natural. Most importantly, the whole process really helped build our confidence in holding and using the vajra and bell — knowing not only what to do, but understanding that we are doing it in the correct way. 🙏🏻❤️ Such a joyful session — lots of learning, lots of laughter, and everyone helping everyone along! This puja is said to be particularly powerful for purifying the impure energy of the mind and the negative actions of body and speech that arise from it. It is able to pacify obstacles of illness, bad luck, and evil energy, and is often performed especially for those who were ill and/or experienced negative energy in life or their dharma practices. Patients who seek healing blessings and speedy recovery are most encouraged to participate in cleansing pujas. Apart from autistic children, we also encourage this puja for people who have fallen ill, experience insomnia, or feel discomfort after visiting “unclean places”. This puja is very helpful to cleanse away bad energy that we may have. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Let's enjoy the blessing of this puja.
