Episode 3.0: UNTANGLED 🧠📝🌸🧘🏻‍♀️ Another week, another episode of Perspective Shifters 🚂 I hope that you guys are pumped because you will be joining Tiya and Zarith this week to explore the power of writing down your thoughts 📖. For anyone who is trying to get unstuck from the patterns of thinking that hold you back and gain clarity, I hope that you will be convinced to take up this simple self-care practice — journaling. xx, 💛💙

Good morning & happy Sunday to all passengers, hope you all had a lovely week! ♥️🚂 We are excited to announce our next guest for perspective shifter 1.0 but before that can we get some guesses? 😜 Here are some hints: 🇺🇸 ✍️ 🌸 Stay tuned & don’t forget to keep moving forward, choo choo! 🚂

Trisyia here!💙 I admit, I have been feeling very distant from the people on this channel. I guess this is the part where I say, I miss you all. 🌙 Munirah for episode 2 is by far 1 of the best decisions made. To put this into context, I didn't grow up in a household that emphasized on Islamic values until I was 15. My spiritual journey began after going through something unimaginable in my teen years. In the midst of all the chaos, I was introduced to practise Islam by a friend. I remember seeing how calm she was even at stressful times. I then started practicing Islam in hopes to be as calm as her. Little did I know, the goal wasn't to be her, it was to be connected with myself again through Islam. Islam for me is not only a religion but my source of motivation. I may seem like a hypocrite for talking about Islam but the point I'm trying to make here is that Islam brought peace into my life. Here's to the ups & downs! Alhamdulilah✨

🌙 Episode 2.4: The Art of Letting Go We go through life balancing deen and dunya but no matter how many deens one has made, sins are unavoidable because we’re only a bunch of imperfect beings. I for one, find it difficult to stop myself from thinking that my mistakes should identify me. From an Islamic perspective, why is it difficult for me to let go of the person I was and how can one go through life without feeling guilty about their past mistakes?

🌙 Episode 2.3: What is Istiqamah? The word ‘istiqamah’ has been thrown around a lot these days, and it is all about being steadfast in the path of Allah and standing firm to what we have been asked to do by Him. In this episode, we asked Munirah to share with us what istiqamah means to her?

🌙 Episode 2.2: Control & Purpose Every so often now, we see things on social media - a lifestyle that isn’t very Islamic-ally, accepted, for lack of a better word. We know many peers conforming to the social norms to belong. We begin to see wrong as something that is okay to do, and sins have become much more normalized nowadays. So, how do we control ourselves from losing our purpose as a servant of God?

🌙 Episode 2: How can we deal with the ups and downs of our ‘iman’? How do we take care of our ‘iman’? In today’s episode, I have purposely asked Munirah the ways in which we can take care of our iman. I personally feel the changes in my iman as my dunya responsibilities begin to eclipse or take over my main responsibility as a servant of God. Here’s what Munirah has to say about it! xx, ZS 💛

📢Welcome to another episode of Perspective Shifters 📢 In the next couple of days, we will be feeding your minds something refreshing and a reminder that our “busy selves” desperately need. 4 main questions have been posed to our lovely guest this week, and we hope you will be moved by the things she shared as much as we both did ♥️. The first part will be released at 8pm today.

This is quite a personal excerpt of my writing from when I was in college, and I'm pretty nervous about this being out here. But I am sharing this because this has been the kind of emails that I received and I find comfort in knowing that there are people who are in the same boat as me. Having standards for how we want others to show up in our life is good. Feeling disappointed or sad is also natural when someone does not live up to those standards. But please learn to manage your expectations because you cannot be everything to everyone. You cannot force something to be there when it is not supposed to be there. You cannot force a connection because it is either there or not. You need to save your heart from going through the same pain again. Because it is not worth it to lose yourself to someone who can't consistently show up in your life.  Put yourself first this time ♥️

🌙 Midnight writing prompts 🌝 “Is it me or am I overthinking this?” “What am I supposed to do with these emotions?” “What is that thing to make it all go away?” Sometimes it’s difficult to sleep when the mind is awake so here are a few prompts if you're still wide awake.💙💛

October 20 - - For a generation raised on the principles of immediacy, at times I wonder why we are so desperate for immediate results? Why do we not see the beauty in delayed gratification? Why do we want things to be ours right this moment? Why can’t I bear certain chapters, ride some harsh waves and hold on to the pain? Why can’t I just be brave and move through every spike, feel every twinge, and nurse every wound? Why the rush?

January 20 - - I consider myself an empath and an emotional sponge. While caring too much is my greatest strength, and that one thing that brings me joy, compassion fatigue is the inevitable consequence (especially if I'm not reminded to put myself first). I show love through acts of service, listening and emotionally supporting ohers. Contrary to this, I often forget to show myself that same amount of compassion I so easily show others. I've never seen it as a burden, more like an empowering tool. But today, I feel empty. Today, I feel like I’ve run out of magic. I’m losing myself. Is this because I don’t prioritise myself? Is this because I have been ignoring all the warning signs that I've reached my limit? My message for you — See rest as part of the work. You must give yourself a chance to reset. No more fighting your mental and physical exhaustion. No more waiting to be sick before you can take a day off. You must start putting yourself first.

Bismillah, good morning ☀️. It’s my turn today 🤍! As promised, I will bring you closer to my journalling journey, which has helped me through some of the roughest corners of life. Side note: Whatever meaning you take from this, please don’t assume there’s an easy exit. What brought you here isn’t your fault. It’s meant to show and teach you something. We have to live each day to its fullest and do our best in whatever environment we find ourselves in. There is no need to feel any shame just because your journey look different to those of others. Even when you have no idea if you’re doing the right thing, or you have the urge to compare yourself to others, trust me, you are always exactly where you need to be, and others around you are exactly where they are supposed to be. Trust the unfolding of your life 🤍

🍊do I hate the person or just the way they make me feel? 😡☹️🤢 Hey there, Trisyia here! 👋🏻 This is somewhat of a long overdue post & I truly apologize for the delay. Anyhoo, following mental health day, I decided to finally open up about my struggles (self-esteem & overthinking). My opinions are all my own otherwise stated. I have a few other reflections available in my drafts so if you’re interested in this little “food for thought” series by me, let me know! 💬 Have a splendid weekend 🎃 xx, T 💙

Dear champs, We hope it is not too late to say happy world’s mental health day. Every day should be a mental health day but I hope you took the time to really understand what this day is all about, for you and especially the people who have been diagnosed with mental health disorder(s). If you get nothing else from this day/month, we hope that you know that your level of mental health will fluctuate throughout your life. And this is a completely normal human experience and it is valid. We all have feelings and we all struggle in our own ways. BUT, never underestimate how strong and capable you are ♥️! Check-in with yourself and others, Reach out for professional help, Take a few deep breaths, and remind yourself that you’ll be okay. We got this 💚💜 💌 p/s: my email is still open if you ever need someone to talk to ☺️.
