- Web Browsing:

- Your computer uses a source port (e.g., 50321) and connects to the server's port 80.
- The server responds to your source port to deliver the requested web page.
### Common Ports
- HTTP: Port 80 (TCP)
- HTTPS: Port 443 (TCP)
- FTP: Port 21 (TCP)
- SMTP: Port 25 (TCP)
- DNS: Port 53 (TCP/UDP)
- SSH: Port 22 (TCP)
### Port Scanning
- Port Scanning:
- A technique used to identify open ports on a host.
- Helps in identifying services running on a server but can be used maliciously to find vulnerabilities.
### Security Considerations
- Firewall Configuration: Firewalls often control access to ports to protect against unauthorized access.
- Port Forwarding: Allows external devices to connect to a specific port on an internal network device.
- Port Blocking: Restricting access to certain ports to prevent unauthorized use.
