| 8 | My Thoughts on FTMO and the Prop Firm Industry 💭.
Now between My Forex Funds and FTMO, I'm sure a lot of you are freaking out 😟. Let me just say, we did great before prop firms and we will do great after (if they actually went away... which I don't think they will) 🙌. We will also do great without mt4/mt5 if that completely goes away 🛑.
Here's the reality of prop firms anyway 🤔. Let's say you were funded $100,000. You really only have $10,000 you're trading with anyways (max 10% drawdown in most cases) 💸. With leverage using $100,000, the $10,000 is just easier to blow faster 💥.
Now when you're trading a $100,000 account you're usually only risking .5 - 1% anyways... which means $500 to $1,000 is at risk 📉.
This is how I trade broker accounts... I put in the amount I'm actually willing to lose and scale those real quick 🚀. So hypothetically if I had $400,000 to put in a broker... I may put in the broker account $20,000 (5%) because I don't expect to lose 5 trades in a row 🧐. It's not exact math but I'm giving you an example 🧮.
Now using my grocery getter method that I teach in Mentorship... I've taken $100 to $1,000's in a week way too many times to remember 🛒✨. The reason I do that is to prove that you don't need much money to make this whole trading thing work. You don't need much to make it a life-changing career. You just need to learn how to trade and be consistent 📚📈.
Once you learn the strategies we teach and can stick to proper risk management and trade management... money just seems to pop in out of nowhere 💵🌟. Before prop firms, investors were just copying my trades for a percentage. Soooo many opportunities start coming up out of nowhere once you can stay consistent. You can also trade futures (apex is great), options, crypto, etc 🌐.
With all of that said, I don't believe prop firms are going away just yet. Maybe never. Especially the ones that straight up say on the front that it's all simulation and it never goes to the live market 📈🚫.
If anything, let this motivate you to get even BETTER at trading. There's something magical about being able to turn $1,000 into $5,000 - $10,000 that week/month 🎩✨. Not enough for you? Do the math 😉
Anyways, those are my thoughts. This doesn't worry me not even the slightest 🚫💡. I'm really really looking forward to trading this year 🎉.
