To all the gladiators in the arena, we're all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit

No one cares about your excuses as much as you do. In fact, no one cares about your excuses at all, except you.
When peopleâs actions have outcomes that donât line up with how they see themselves, they tend to insulate their egos by blaming other people or unfavorable circumstances. Phrases like, âIt was a great idea just poorly executed,â âWe did the best we could,â and âWe never shouldâve been in this situation in the first place,â are often manifestations of this self-preserving tendency.
Hereâs the thing: it might be true. Maybe it really wasnât a bad idea, just bad execution. Maybe you really did do the best you could. Maybe you never should have been in that situation in the first place. It doesnât really matter. No one cares. None of it changes the outcome or solves the problems that still remain.
Just because something happened that was outside of your control doesnât mean itâs not your responsibility to deal with circumstances the best you can.
Focus on the next move. The next move makes the future easier or harder.

âLiving well is an art that can be developed: a love of life and ability to take great pleasure from small offerings and assurance that the world owes you nothing and that every gift is exactly that, a gift.â
â Maya Angelou
Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty⊠I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.
â Theodore Roosevelt
The purpose of life is not to be happyâbut to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you lived at all.

Whether you try too hard to fit in or you try too hard to stand out, it is of equal consequence: you exhaust your significance.
â Criss Jami, Healology
âI think one thing that is a really important thing to strive for is being internally driven, being driven to compete with yourself, not with other people.
If you compete with other people, you end up in this mimetic trap, and you sort of play this tournament, and if you win, you lose. But if youâre competing with yourself, and all youâre trying to do isâââfor the own self-satisfaction and for also the impact you have on the world and the duty you feel to do thatâââbe the best possible version you can, there is no limit to how far that can drive someone to perform.â
âSam Altman

Often people that say they âdonât careâ actually do. The moment they discuss you with their friends and family, compete with you, bad mouth you to others or react to anything you do or say is when they give themselves away. You can either be saddened or flattered that you effected someone so much. The perspective is yours to determine.
