Hong Kong's government has banned a popular protest song under the city's national security laws. The High Court previously rejected the request for Glory to Hong Kong to be made illegal, saying it would have "chilling effects" on free speech. But on Wednesday, an appeal court overturned that ruling. The song was written during the territory’s pro-democracy protests in 2019, and includes lines such as "Liberate Hong Kong". Thousands of people have fled Rafah, which borders Egypt in the south of Gaza, after Israel warned people to evacuate before a ground offensive. Rafah has been a key entry point for aid, and the only exit for people able to flee, since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas last October. The area is Hamas's last major stronghold in the territory, but US officials have warned that an operation in the city could lead to extensive civilian casualties. Israel's ambassador to the UN said the country was "very disappointed" by Mr Biden's intervention. Tap the link in BBCNews’ bio to read the latest on the Israel-Gaza conflict. “It started out with a kiss, how did it end up like this?” 👀 It's a question that has rung out across dancefloors for more than 20 years. The answer, for The Killers' Mr Brightside, lies in breaking chart records... but not actually topping the charts. The 2000s indie-rock anthem has now overtaken Oasis' Wonderwall to become the UK's biggest-selling single never to reach number one. According to the Official Charts Company, Mr Brightside's 5.57 million combined sales and streams also make it the UK's third biggest song of all time. “What it achieves is life-transforming.” Children with milk and peanut allergies have shown dramatic signs of improvements by eating small amounts of everyday foods, according to early trial results. Five UK hospitals have joined the £2.5m trial, thanks to funding from the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation. Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, from west London, died in 2016 after suffering a severe allergic reaction to sesame baked into a Pret baguette. Her parents set up the foundation hoping to cure allergies with research. Tap the link in @BBCNews’s bio to find out how the trial works.
