NikGapps - Releases

Hi Everyone, It's been a while! xD We were working on something cool and cool things take time. We've built the first ever Android app that lets you build gapps from your device. If you are seriously interested in testing and shaping NikGapps app and have the ability to flash the zip + provide logcat, respond to this chat and I will share the link to the group (if we have enough people interested) where we can discuss on the feedback, enhancements and bugs. And yes, android 17 support is also added in the app. :P Cheers!

New Release is up - 22nd Feb 2026 (Android 16) Changelog:

- Add support for Google Gemini (replacing Assistant under GoogleSearch) (Android 16) - Update nikgapps.config version to v38 (Android 16)

- Update all the apps to QPR2 versions (Android 16) - Fixed the issue with setup wizard not surviving the OTA updates - Fixed Calendar, Contacts not replacing AOSP counterparts

Hi Everyone, Those looking for Android 16 QPR2 release can try the latest NikGapps Beta - https://sourceforge.net/projects/nikgapps-beta/files/Releases/Android-16/17-Jan-2026/ I would love to hear feedback on the build before marking it stable. You should be able to dirty flash this on top of your existing build (always take backup in case something goes wrong). Cheers!

Hey Guys, With today's Android 16 QPR1 release, here we are with NikGapps beta release with updated changes from QPR1. https://sourceforge.net/projects/nikgapps-beta/files/Releases/Android-16/04-Sep-2025/ Please flash this only on Android 16 QPR1 base of your Rom.

Hey Guys, We're pretty much running stable from the gapps perspective from a long time. If there is any feature you'd like to see in NikGapps (the way it is installed, not the ones that comes from Rom support like CTS) - feel free to share your thoughts here.

The issue with uploading the files is now resolved and User Builds are enabled. Feel free to send in a pull request to create a new build. The ones already created will be processed now and can be found here Enjoy!

User builds are disabled temporarily and will be enabled in about 7-8 days. Why? - a piece of code has gone outdated with newer paramiko release and I need to rewrite the code to upload the files from scratch. - I am on a vacation and away from the laptop and will be back in 7-8 days.

- Fixed incorrect display of partition while installing gapps - Debloat Aosp counterpart (Twelve) with installing YouTube music in Los 22.2 - Add more Circle To Search changes - Fixed the uninstaller crashing before uninstalling gapps

- Android 16 User builds are enabled. Feel free to start building a16 gapps.

For those wondering about android 16 builds - those are under beta testing. Elite users - feel free to reach me for A16 elite builds which will also officially arrive with the first NikGapps stable A16 release.

New Release is up - 11th June 2025 (Android 14-15) Changelog:

- Updated google apps to make them QPR2 compatible - Enhanced the installer script to display space information - Fixed the issue where the space calculation was not accurate - Fixed the issue where uninstalling exclusive system files was not working - Fixed the issue where use_zip_config was not recognized during sideloading - Prioritize Installing Setup Wizard after Core (more stability when it comes to installation)

Note:

- Pixel Launcher works fine on los 22.2 (qpr2 base) - CTS (Circle to search) doesn't work - Pixel Launcher breaks on crdroid - I recommend using the stock launcher until it's fixed - CTS works on the stock launcher. - Android 16 gapps update is in the works!

Those facing Pixel Launcher crash on A15 QPR1 builds, can you try flashing this build and report in @NikGappsGroup if it is working fine for you?
