Officially, America celebrates “Columbus Day” but a growing number of people and institutions reject that, and celebrate Indigenous People’s Day instead. And Mexicans and Mexican Americans celebrate Dia de los Muertes, or Day of the Dead, on November 1, while the Jewish community observes its most important holidays. What are the stories of each of these holidays? What are the symbols of each of these holidays? What are the rituals and customs associated with each of these holidays? Using slide shows, games and questions and answers, you will come to a greater understanding of the holidays Americans celebrate this season.

📢Dear Students! We are looking for ENGin students age 14-17 to speak to a group of peers in Helsinki via Zoom on Wednesday Nov 1, at 1:20PM EEST. You will talk about your life, school, friends, family, how the war affects you, how things have changed over the past year and a half. The international students will ask you some questions.
