An unexpected Iranian retaliation would move markets in the wrong direction for those positioned to profit โ that is the real calculation.
The war has not stopped. The US naval blockade on Iran remains fully active. Iran is losing millions of dollars daily โ something airstrikes alone could not easily achieve. A blockade is itself an act of war, and it is ongoing at this very hour.
The statements from Trump and the optimistic media cycle exist to serve financial interests โ not to reflect genuine diplomatic progress. Anyone treating these signals as evidence of an imminent peace deal needs to relearn the basics of geopolitics.
As for Araghchi โ whether intentionally or not, his tweets projecting negotiation success are feeding the very insider trading cycle being run against Iranโs interests. The IRGC hardliners may not fully grasp what he is doing, but the effect is the same regardless of intent.
