Folks, we will be closed this weekend, 6th to 8th October (Friday to Sunday) as we are going down for the @aeropress.msia finals*! One of our baristas will be competing and we thought we would make a trip out of it to visit KL and our coffee friends! We will be back Monday 9th October as usual, 730-1600 with stories and coffees to share as usual! Finally a roasting competition to determine the best 'Nordic roast'. We spot a personal favourite of ours, Morgon Coffee Roasters from cupping samples from around the region in 2019. Pretty cool idea for a championship and they're even working with a coffee subscription service so people can try the coffees!

We use the Ratio 6 for our Today Brew/Batch Brew and just found out this week they're raising funds in the US via Crowdfund. Not sure what is the rules for Malaysians crowdfunding into the US but interesting news and they're designing a Ratio 4, a single cup to 20oz brewer! One of our friends shared this video and we find it quite helpful for new brewers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=nxmrSgwW25g At Ome, we do usually circular (starting from the centre outwards and outwards inwards to get the bed evenly wet) or bob pours but, pretty solid advice all around in the video. P.S. We just had new Apollon Gold come in (and more coming!) and also Prodigal Coffee is restocking in 1-2 weeks with new Ethiopians (honey process, wahey!) and a Pink Bourbon Colombian. P.S.S One other tip we would add is to use a consistent coffee and do not switch too often when you are still new so you can get used to one coffee/roaster before moving on to other origins/roaster.
