Proper handling of tooth extraction forceps by dentists plays a crucial role in a successful and painless dental procedure. This important dental tool, also known as an elevators, is used for carefully lifting and extracting teeth from their sockets. The correct technique for handling tooth extraction forceps requires expertise and precision from the dentist. Firstly, it is positioned correctly against the tooth, and then it is used as a lever that gradually frees the tooth from its socket. It is essential to apply the right angle and pressure to minimize trauma to surrounding tissues. In addition to enabling controlled tooth extraction, proper handling of the forceps also helps reduce the risk of complications during procedures. Dentists must be careful not to damage adjacent teeth, gums, and other structures in the oral cavity. #tips πŸ”ŽπŸ¦·βœ¨ @dental_case_study πŸ”¬ @dent_tech_for_u πŸ“š

Peripheral ossifying fibroma is a reactive lesion of fibrous connective tissue, in which there are foci of mineralized material supposedly originating from cells of the periosteum or periodontal ligament. Although its pathogenesis is uncertain, it is possible that this lesion is a response to chronic irritation or low-intensity local trauma. Clinically, it presents as a nodular, well-defined lesion, with a sessile or pedunculated base, slow growing, reddish in color or similar to that of the mucosa. This fibroma has a predilection for white female patients, between the second and third decade of life and located almost exclusively in the gums, in the anterior region of the maxilla. Histopathologically, a stratified squamous epithelium is observed, which may be ulcerated or not, covering the vascularized fibrous connective tissue with multiple fibroblasts, deposition of collagen fibers and mineralization in the form of cementum globules or cementicles, osteoid, mature bone and dystrophic calcification. Commonly, there is a combination of these mineralized materials. If the lining epithelium is ulcerated, its surface will be covered by a fibrinopurulent membrane with an area of underlying granulation tissue. The final photo was taken 1 month after removal of the lesion, with no signs of recurrence. Patient remains under follow-up. ❓Did you know this lesion already? Would you consider this diagnosis as an initial hypothesis? Tell in the comments! #case_study πŸ”ŽπŸ¦·βœ¨ @dental_case_study πŸ”¬ @dent_tech_for_u πŸ“š

What regions does oropharyngeal carcinoma affect? They are located in the soft palate, base of the tongue, uvula, lingual tonsil, tonsillar fossa, tonsillar pillar, pharyngeal tonsils and/or posterior and lateral wall of the pharynx. What is the most important risk factor associated with oropharyngeal carcinomas? Without a doubt HPV infection, however it can also be associated with smoking and alcohol. In fact, these HPV+ tumors have a particular clinical and morphological profile, responding better to the oncological therapeutic regimen with respect to HPV- tumors. #oropharyngealcarcinoma #HPVcarcinoma πŸ”ŽπŸ¦·βœ¨ @dental_case_study πŸ”¬ @dent_tech_for_u πŸ“š

"So you'll pull my tooth out, and then put it back in? Are you serious?!" As crazy as this may sound, Intentional Replantation has been around for over 40 years and what used to be a "last resort" option, has become another successful treatment modality in Dentistry. The benefits are simple: no loss of bone or tooth structure, avoiding critical landmarks like the maxillary sinus or the IDN Canal, and if done right, the success rate is over 90% which is better than many non-surgical retreatment cases. Run a quick Google search "Indications for Replantation and recommendations - AAE" and you'll find a current article published by the American Association of Endodontics. #case_study πŸ”ŽπŸ¦·βœ¨ @dental_case_study πŸ”¬ @dent_tech_for_u πŸ“š

For surgery, PBM and aPDT are INDISPENSABLE! We simply do not perform ANY surgery in our office without using Photobiomodulation as an auxiliary tool for healing, analgesia, and anti-inflammatory effect! And aPDT for prevention and control of infections. All our surgeries include these therapies. We have observed faster healing and less pain. Do you already use Photobiomodulation daily in your office? πŸ€” Tell me in the comments! #case_study πŸ”ŽπŸ¦·βœ¨ @dental_case_study πŸ”¬ @dent_tech_for_u πŸ“š
