A well-defined radiolucency is seen in the area of the right ramus. No clinical signs, no symptoms. Whatβs your diagnosis?
In this case, the doctor was encouraged to retake the panoramic and was able to bring the patient in the following day for a new image. On the new panoramic, the radiolucency had completely disappeared! Whatβs going on?!
It turns out that while the first panoramic was being taken, the patient had swallowed! This swallowing motion moved the soft palate up and away from the dorsum of the tongue, creating a radiolucent air space which appeared over the right ramus. There was no swallowing during the second panoramic, so the radiolucency βDisappeared.β

Clamps come in different Types. Use them creatively, for example, a butterfly 9A clamp on a broken-down premolarππΌ
Think about the whole length of the treatment. What is going to get in your way and what are you going to restore the tooth with at the end of the appointment? You donβt want to take the rubber dam on and off throughout the treatment if you can avoid it.
