OMR sheets have grown significantly in relevance in recent years due to the fact that the CBSE board and many competitive exams in India utilize them to expose pupils to new exam-taking strategies. An input device that only reads special letters and numerals written or darkened using a blue or black ballpoint pen or a pencil in accordance with the guidelines is referred to as an "OMR" (Optical Mark Reader. This page is scanned using an OMR scanner. Before you start filling in the OMR sheet, the students should read the instructions very carefully with the objective of avoiding errors while filling it up. Naveen Shrivas Sir warns the students that they are penalized heavily as their sheet might get rejected if they fill out the OMR sheet incorrectly or carelessly. He stressed on the need for carefully and attentively filling the personal details as well as the correct options rather than rushing to finish the questions. Generally, the students think it is a waste of time to fill out the relevant student information on the OMR sheet. These are some typical mistakes that students make, which lead to the rejection of their answer scripts, and eventually, their selection is denied. These little mistakes can lead to the rejection of the answer scripts submitted by the students and even those who were feeling confident to be chosen in their Defence competitive exam may face rejection due to this callous attitude. When the questions are given to the students, they make every effort to focus only on the solving of those questions and hardly pay any attention to the correct entries of their personal details. This indeed is a wrong practice, though, as the OMR cannot be scanned without the students' personal information. As the OMR sheet is not graded by a teacher but rather by an OMR scanner, a machine or input device that is made to only read specific characters and digits. The document will be disregarded if a student makes a mistake and then attempts to fix it with an eraser, whitener, or blade. Extreme caution must also be exercised while entering the registration number since zero is supposed to come after all other numbers, but often students carelessly enter zero before one, which results in a significant error and the rejection of the form. Additionally, attention must be used when circling the right digit. If a student circles two alternatives or multiple options instead of just one, that specific question will not be scanned. The proper option's partial darkening is not recognized by the OMR scanner. Also marking the bubble outside the demonstrated circle is an incorrect practice leading to negative grading. Even when students sign their papers correctly or in the invigilator's column, the response script will still be disregarded. Additionally, the OMR sheet must be free of stains, thus the students must exercise extra caution. Any other mark, letter, alphabet, or number that is inadvertently entered on the OMR form might result in its rejection. He continues by saying that while writing a person's name, a space should be left between the last letter of the first name and the first letter of the middle name and vice versa for the middle and last names.
