I know you're going through a lot lately, just keep in your mind that you're going to be okay. Breathe and remember that youâve been in this place before. Youâve been this uncomfortable and anxious and scared, and youâve survived. Breathe and know that you can survive this too. These feelings canât break you.

Things we need to stop saying to people who have low self-esteem due to trauma:
"Just believe in yourself! The only opinion about yourself that matters is yours!"
"If they're so toxic, why do you care what they think?" (usually in reference to a family member)
"You're making excuses for yourself. Just go after what you want."
"Forgive and move on. Life's too short."
"If it happened so long ago, why do you still care?"
Trauma has complex effects on the brain, and it's not as simple as just "getting over it", so please stop and consider your words.

I just crave gentle love, gentle hands, gentle words, I just want someone to make me feel safe and calm. I want someone to make me feel itâs okay to open up itâs okay to feel anything and share anything with them. I want someone who makes life easier and doesnât just let me survive but encourages me to live to the fullest. I want someone i can curl up in and cry when i want to. Someone who will put faith in me and make me more confident and proud make me accept myself.

Live and move on. It hurts and probably will for awhile, it might stop you to feel anything but emptiness, and it might make you feel like there is no other option available but to stand there and just give everything up. But darling, surely this is just an illusion. Fear and frustration is overwhelming you and it will only fade into oblivion once youâre done with it. The past is over, itâs done and dusted and thereâs nothing you can do to bring it back. Release yourself from the attachment. You must claim the pieces left and lift yourself from the memories. Itâs time to forgive, itâs time to turn the page and begin to live again.

It's okay to mourn the person you could have been. It's okay to be angry or resentful at that lost potential. It's okay to be sad about it too. But i want you to know that there are so many parts of you, the you that exists right now, that are beautiful and lovely and meaningful. Just because your past is lost doesn't mean your future has to be too.

âHow's your heart?â
A question Iâve avoided asking myself these past days. Not because I donât have any answer for it, itâs just that words are not sufficient to make a seemingly comprehensible and at most sane answer. Itâs just like answering a riddle with another riddle.

Please I did everything to make you stay. I changed myself. I gave my time to you. I forgot that I have friends because of you. You became my priority. You became my world. I followed everything you commanded. I forgot the things that make me happy. I forgot to love myself. I thought, your happiness was my happiness. I thought you were the right one for me, that you wouldnât leave and hurt me, that you were different, that you appreciated all the little things I did for you. But I was so wrong. Everyone has the capability to break someoneâs heart, no matter how perfect that someone is. And you did that. You broke me.
