When they start writing articles about how to make money on the stock market surge, thatâs in almost every case the first indication that itâs about time to sell.
What weâre experiencing now is nothing but the markets reading to the changing circumstance. Followed by average Joes panic selling which spurred on the decline.
The great crash will come. The markets are still highly over valued. But this dip we saw was not the great decline. It will take more time. Can even take years.
For the ultimate armageddon crash will happen when wars escalate or when governments are finally at the point of no return in increased spending and debt levels.
During this tariff thing weâll see ups and downs sometimes 20-30% in a few days. Itâs. Normal. The problem is that the markets are still 80% over priced so thereâs plenty of way down to go once it happens.
So what to do, when one wants to protect the little one has?
Most economists would say that the best hedge is to buy stocks in companies that arenât over priced.
A good rule thumb is generally accepted as; companies that arenât over priced are those with a P/E around 10-15 or even lower, assuming that have a good track record of keeping revenues coming.
They should also be in an industry or have products that arenât sensitive to market conditions.
Basically ask yourself what will people need regardless of the situation: electricity, fuel, food etc. as for food donât look at the name brand owners like Nestle, P&G etc but at companies that produce essentials for food production. Think potash, fertilisers etc. or companies that trade well and with profit on the commodities.
Sad reality is that if you sit on the cash on a bank account and inflation kicks in youâre losing money. The banks will never pay enough interest on savings accounts to cover that. So you have to make the money work for you. So most people are either forced to invest in the stock maker or see inflation eat up their savings. Itâs just the way it is.
Gold is a meme as Iâve explained many times before. In short: For gold to be worth while you need to get it without paying a huge margin to the ones selling the coins and be able to sell yours at a price that not only covers the initial margin of the seller but also pays out a gain. Thatâs a hard thing to do. If youâre ok with losing the margin part etc then gold is an ok way to go. But youâll not be making bank with it any time soon.
For the average Joe with under 1 million euro or dollars to invest the options are limited. For inflation protection in a way that you can be fairly certain to get at least what you put in back and cover inflation.
Once you have a few million to throw around, doors and possibilities open. You can start opening bank accounts in multiple countries, park money in low inflation currencies etc. but that costs money in itself. And you canât just waltz into say a Swiss bank and say hey I have 2k open an account for me as a foreigner.
Finally; Do not ever invest any money youâre not willing to part ways with. Ask yourself. If loose all of this money Iâm about to invest, will it be catastrophic for me financially? If the answer is yes, donât do it. If the answers is, no, then go ahead. | 175 |

If you are an open goal then the Russians or whomever might attack will do far more damage to society, infrastructure etc. and the more damage done, even if the defender comes out victorious youâll spend a lot to rebuild it. With money that could have gone to these welfare payments they want to protect.
You see this in all of their policies and mindset. They donât understand how food and essentials make it to the store. They want all electric cars, trucks etc. they want to ban cars in cities l, cars which make their way of life possible in the first place.
They want to âsave the worldâ by handing over our money to strangers invading our countries. Genuinely expecting them to return the favour when they are old.

Look at the people around you, theyâre all giving you information even when they are silent. If people are zooming out, fidgeting with their phones etc then you donât have their attention.
If you donât have their attention youâve got two choices. Earn their attention by being engaging and relevant or then stay silent and give others space.
Weâve all sat through classes in school as young kids where no one gave a shit. Everyone was forced to sit through some stuff that wasnât interesting at all which a teacher that didnât care either.
Then there are people that can speak about paint drying and keep everyone captivated. Theyâve got the talent of a great speaker.
The same goes to any interaction. If you donât observe the listeners which is your audience people will be annoyed at you. If theyâre annoyed theyâll resent whatever you want them to do. Especially important to understand as a manager.
If you ask a question and get a round about answer that means something. Letâs take an example.
An employee asks a manager if the company fails to reach its financial targets this year will mean that theyâll have to reduce headcount.
The manager answers: If we do not hit our targets it puts more pressure on increased efficiency.
If you can read the room and between the lines you understand that this is an answer that is equal to them saying YES.
If youâre regarded youâll ask: So does that mean reduced head count?
The reason the manager says it like that is:
A. Heâs got an NDA and cannot speak about upcoming layoffs.
B. He cannot say it as if he says that people will start to look for new jobs and itâll become even harder to meet targets.
The smart ones will read the room and go apply for new jobs or if they are in a position that they donât have to fear being slated off theyâll push the others to do more.
Reading the room and its people.
See how others react around another person. Say there a manager in the room thatâs known for being overly paranoid talking every minor issue as the end of the world. People around that person will speak in ways where they donât bring up minor issues. As they know itâll cause drama for no reason.
Donât be the asshat that brings up how Thony bumped their toe on the chair in the cafeteria. Itâs irrelevant but that manager will force everyone to do some safety training and report it as a safety issue. As an extreme example of how some people react to minor things.
It really is not that hard.
Knowing when to drop it.
If someone says to you, âletâs look at that at a later stageâ it means that they donât want to talk about it now. Get that. Donât keep at it. If you do youâll end up on their shit list forever.
Easiest way to end up on my shit list as a manager is if I see that youâre a person that cannot drop an issue if I tell you that: Itâs being worked on already, or XYZ is taking care of it. If you keep wanting to discuss it Iâll make sure youâll not be in another meeting again where important things are brought up to move things along.
