Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله “The intelligent person does not cling to this material world.” [al-Fawā’id | Pg. 228]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله “The servitude in repentance is the most noble and beloved form of servitude in the Eyes of Allāh. He loves those who repent and it is because of His love for His creation that He tests them with sins so that He may shower His Blessings and Favours upon them after they repent." [Sincere Repentance | P.13]

Mindset - Good Deeds / Evil Deeds Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله: “The sign of happiness is that the good deeds of the servant are behind his back [not focusing on it much], and his bad deeds are between his eyes [focusing on one’s sins so as to repent from it] …and the sign of misery is that he places his good deeds in front of his eyes [caring too much about one’s good deeds might cause showing off], and his bad deeds behind his back.” [Miftāh Dār as-Sa’ādah | 1/298]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله: "When the heart becomes agitated and restless, there is nothing that can bring tranquillity to it except for the remembrance of Allāh." {بدائع التفسير ٨٨/٢}

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله: "Your nafs is just like your enemy, once it finds you serious, it obeys you. If it finds weakness from you, it will take you as a prisoner." [Bada'i Al-Fawa'id | V. 3, Pg. 1202]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله: “Friday is the day when the people of Paradise will receive the ever-increasing reward. It is the day when they will see Allah, the Exalted. Those who were the earliest to go to the mosque on Friday will be the first to receive this honor. Thus, the nearest to Allah were those nearest to the Imam on Friday. The residents of Paradise are eager for Friday, the day of such increase, due to the honor they will receive on that day.” [Zaad Al-Ma’ad | 1/59-65]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله “Knowledge is food for the heart, its drink, its medication. The heart being alive is dependent upon knowledge. When the heart is devoid of knowledge then it is dead.” [Miftaah Daar As-Sa’aadah | 1/344]

"Your first bath was done by someone and your last bath will be done by someone, so where are you going with your pride and arrogance? Humble yourself." ' كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ ' "Every soul shall taste death. Then you shall be brought back to Us."
