🔥 PAXOS SHOCKS THE MARKET AFTER ACCIDENTALLY MINTING 300 TRILLION PYUSD
Earlier today, Paxos — the issuer of PayPal’s PYUSD stablecoin — admitted to accidentally minting over $300 trillion PYUSD in an internal transaction.
All tokens were burned within 30 minutes.
Paxos confirmed it was an internal technical error, not a hack.
User funds remain safe, and the issue has been resolved.
However, the incident raises serious questions about risk control and oversight mechanisms among stablecoin issuers.
