INCOIS (Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services), ഭൂവിജ്ഞാന മന്ത്രാലയം, 2026 ആഗസ്റ്റ് 18-ന് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച അറിയിപ്പുപ്രകാരം, 2026 ആഗസ്റ്റ് 19–20 തീയതികളിൽ ലക്ഷദ്വീപ് ദ്വീപുകളിൽ Swell Surge (Kallakadal) പ്രതിഭാസത്തിന് സാധ്യതയുള്ളതായി മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ദക്ഷിണ ഇന്ത്യൻ മഹാസമുദ്രത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ തീരപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങിവരുന്ന ഉയർന്ന ഊർജമുള്ള ദീർഘകാല തിരമാലകൾ മൂലം ലക്ഷദ്വീപ് ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള തീരപ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ ശക്തമായ തിരമാലകളും കടൽവെള്ളം കയറിയുള്ള പ്രാദേശിക വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കവും ഉണ്ടാകാൻ സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്.
2026 ആഗസ്റ്റ് 19-ന് പുലർച്ചെ 02:30 മുതൽ 2026 ആഗസ്റ്റ് 20-ന് വൈകുന്നേരം 05:30 വരെ താഴ്ന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലുള്ള തീരമേഖലകളിൽ പ്രത്യേക ജാഗ്രത പാലിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. ഉയർന്ന വേലിയേറ്റ സമയത്തോടൊപ്പം ഈ ശക്തമായ തിരമാലകൾ ഉണ്ടാകുമ്പോൾ താഴ്ന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ കടൽവെള്ളം കയറുന്നതിനുള്ള സാധ്യത കൂടുതലാണ്.
