Hello there! I am looking for a PhD Research Scholar for the forthcoming Even Semester PhD advertisement of NIT Durgapur (National Institute of Technology, Durgapur) in the Department of Chemistry.
Field of my research and future directions include: 1.Nonlinear Dynamics (Reaction-Diffusion Systems, Theoretical Ecology. Future directions: Higher Order Interactions, Fluid Dynamics etc). 2.Bio-Physics, Mathematical Physiology (such as Neurophysiology etc). 3.Nonequilibrium Statistical Mechanics and its application in complex Stochastic Systems -etc.
Students from chemistry background may not be familiar with the topics written above, donβt worry, you shall get familiar with the required maths and computation techniques during the course of your PhD. I shall be there to help you through out! What I expect in return from you is your commitment and dedication to your work, a strong non-giving up mental attitude, an inquisitive mind with powerful imagination which strives to be creative, a decent, confident and independent personality. Believe me rest of everything will fall in line! I can assure you with a supportive and friendly guidance, flexibility in working hours and environment (apart from your TA duties in the department) and accessibility to required computational resources.
It would be great if you have Physical Chemistry Special in MSC (or most of the special papers are from Physical Chemistry), a consistently good academic track record, qualification of NET/GATE and some basic knowledge of programing language like Fortran/C. Students from some other chemistry related streams also are eligible to apply. Please check the details of eligibility criteria in old 2023 odd semester advertisement link given at the end.

4.Neurophysiology:Termination of Action Potential Due to Site Selective Ion Channel Blockers.
5.Neuron-Biophysics: Synchronization and metabolic energy consumption in stochastic Hodgkin-Huxley neurons: Patch size and drug blockers.
6.Application of Non-equilibrium Thermodynamics: Nonequilibrium response of a voltage gated sodium ion channel and biophysical characterization of dynamic hysteresis.
