Throughout Scripture, the altar was a place of refuge, mercy, and divine intervention. It was where men turned when they had nowhere else to run, where lives were preserved, and where God intervened in the affairs of men.
There are seasons when our greatest wisdom is to remain at the altar, refusing to let go until Heaven speaks. In the place of prayer, strength is renewed, burdens are exchanged for grace, and mercy triumphs over judgment.
