Copper Update China’s imports of unwrought copper and copper products dropped 11.5% year on year to 425,000 tonnes in July, while imports for January-July fell 6.2% to 2.92 million tonnes. Impact: Positive for Copper. -Choice Broking

Dollar Update The dollar hovered near 99.6 after weak US jobs data reduced Fed hike expectations. Markets await inflation data, while Iran-US tensions persist, with Tehran demanding an end to the blockade, sanctions relief and compensation. -Choice Broking

Global Market Heatmap Global markets were mixed, with Nikkei 225 gaining 0.97%, while the Dow Jones, Russell 2000 and European indices edged lower. Energy prices strengthened, with WTI up 0.70% and Brent 0.95%, while natural gas jumped 2.59%. In metals, gold slipped 0.37%, while silver and copper were largely steady; platinum gained 0.13%, whereas palladium fell 0.60%. The US dollar index rose 0.15% to 99.58, while major currencies weakened slightly.
