It gathers ~300 medical students from across our region with the aim to inspire the next generation of future physicians to become leaders and advocates, as well as to encourage cooperation between medical students across the Asia-Pacific. This year, APRM 2023 will be fully in-person in Manila, Philippines 🇵🇭! [IFMSA's Side-Event at 10th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development 2023] 🧐 What: IFMSA's Side-Event at 10th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development 2023 🗓 When: 30th March 2023, 6:15 PM (PH Time) 💻 Where: Via Zoom The Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) is an annual, inclusive intergovernmental forum to support follow-up and review of progress on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the regional level, while serving as a regional preparatory meeting to the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF). IFMSA will be hosting a side-event for the APFSD organized with International Forestry Students' Association (IFSA) themed “Building Links: Youth Partnerships for Impactful Action on SDGs”. [Call for IFMSA interns at the World Medical Association for the period May-July 2023] 🧐 What: Call for IFMSA interns at the World Medical Association for the period May-July 2023 🗓 When: A total of 10 weeks between 1st May and 30th July 2023 🗺 Where: Ferney-Voltaire, France 🇫🇷 🚨 DL: 28th March 2023, 11:59 PM (PH Time) The World Medical Association (WMA) is an international organization representing millions of physicians worldwide. It was founded in 1947, and endeavours to achieve the highest international standards in medical education, medical science, medical ethics, and health care for all people in the world. IFMSA has a long-standing partnership with WMA, including an internship program. Interns will have the opportunity to work directly with the WMA Secretariat in its Ferney office on select core projects to work on during their internship - these range from advocacy areas of WMA to specific focus areas of work. ❗️Note that the IFMSA will NOT provide accommodation, but interns will receive financial support. Are you interested in playing an active role in emergencies and disasters? Do you want to learn to know how to deliver healthcare when the needs exceed the resources? The Training Disaster Medicine Trainers (TdmT) is an international program developed by the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) together with CRIMEDIM, the Research Center in Emergency and Disaster Medicine at the University of Piemonte Orientale in Novara, Italy. 🇮🇹 🌋 It aims to provide medical students with theoretical knowledge and basic skills in the field of Disaster Medicine, empowering them to share the knowledge gained with their peers and in their communities. 🌊 The course will consist of a three-month long online self-paced phase followed by a live participation phase, held live this year, from the 2nd to the 7th of July 2023 of a total duration of approximately 45 working hours. 🌪️ During the live participation phase of the course, there will be classes with both conventional and innovative teaching strategies. Students will learn from experts in the emergency and disaster medicine sector. There will also be live simulations to apply the knowledge acquired in both the asynchronous and residential phase. ⚕️ By the end of the program, participants who successfully complete the course content will become certified IFMSA-CRIMEDIM Disaster Medicine Trainers.
