APMEC aims to provide a platform for medical educators and stakeholders to share their experiences, insights and best practices on Medical Education topics. The past two decades have seen the conference grow and evolve from 190 participants to over 1,500 participants from nearly 40 countries.
The theme for APMEC 2024 is, “Artificial Intelligence in Health Professions Education –Trends, Issues, Priorities, Strategies”. This theme reflects the growing importance and impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on health care delivery, education and research.
Over the main conference, a variety of workshops and symposia, addressing teaching and learning, assessments, continuing medical education, leadership, and will provide a structured platform for engaging discussions with leading medical educationalists and other healthcare professionals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) is the first international treaty negotiated under the auspices of WHO. It was adopted by the World Health Assembly on 21 May 2003 and entered into force on 27 February 2005, with aims to reduce the demand and supply of tobacco products to improve public health. The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the governing body of the FCTC, responsible for regularly reviewing the implementation of the convention and making decisions to enhance its effectiveness.
The COP meetings provide a platform for parties to the FCTC to discuss and negotiate matters related to the implementation of the convention. These meetings play a crucial role in shaping global tobacco control policies and initiatives. COP meetings are typically held once in two years, and decisions made during these meetings have a significant impact on global efforts to reduce tobacco consumption and its related health risks.
The meeting will gather stakeholders working in the field of Tobacco Control and passionate public health advocates in IFMSA will have the opportunity to shape action plans towards this goal as a part of our delegation.

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. The CSW is instrumental in promoting women’s rights, documenting the reality of women’s lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women. During the Commission’s session, representatives of UN Member States, civil society organizations and UN entities discuss progress and gaps in the implementation of the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the key global policy document on gender equality. Member States agree on further actions to accelerate progress and promote women’s enjoyment of their rights in political, economic, and social fields.
The priority theme of the meeting is Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective, meaning the Commission and Member States will propose action plans on this topic. The review theme this year, which aims to evaluate efforts done on the particular issue, will be Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

It adopts resolutions and makes decisions that guide the work of the Regional Office and country offices for the coming year. The WPR RC is comprised of representatives from the Region’s 37 Member States and areas, as well as Associate Members.

The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) has launched the Contraception Reimagined Challenge, which aims to redefine the terminology and name used for contraception. It recognizes that contraception not only prevents unplanned pregnancies but also contributes to various aspects of women's health, empowerment, sustainability, and societal well-being. Submission Guidelines:
☑️ Submit a new name for contraception and provide a 200-word explanation of your chosen name.

Study sessions are international educational youth seminars based on co-operation
