Interesting fact: today is first day of Syawal or Hari Raya Aidilfitri for the year 1445 Hijrah.
Hari Raya Puasa marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. It is a time of forgiveness within the Muslim community and a time for strengthening of bonds among relatives and friends. New clothes, decorated houses and exchange of invitations between friends and relatives commemorate Hari Raya Puasa.
Ramadan is a period of sober repentance for Muslims, during which adherents of the faith worship, engage in acts of compassion and fast from dawn to dusk for approximately 30 days.

Today's dedication is by a Toa Payoh customer who has been eating with us daily for almost 2 years now. The tingkat dinner is for the whole family - adults, kids, elderlies and they are especially fond of our chinese desserts. They requested for braise duck and 3-eggs spinach and abc soup. Her side was supposed to be Chawanmushi but too much eggs. hehe...

20 Feb 2024, Wed: Today's dinner is a special dedication by a customer in Hougang. The mother-daughter pair eats our tingkat 3 days a week since July 2022. The 10 yr old girl is learning ballet (I once had that dream... hehe)... Whenever her mummy sends me her photo of her enjoying our dinner, she is always so jovial. As she is asthmatic, sometimes she will request for no chicken. I believe strongly believe that food consumption contributes alot to one's well-being and health! That's why we take personalisation, patients', elderlies and pregnant ladies diets very seriously...
Definitely see her enjoying her "咕噜肉" sweet-sour pork. The deep fried pork and the sweet-sour sauce has been packed seperately so you can still enjoy a bit of the crispy pork...

There is a very cheerful Italian tourist who is staying at the hostel beside and we have struck up conversations these days. Yesterday after she ate her steam meat patty dinner... She came by the counter to order a toast. She wanted kaya butter but it was sold out so she had lemon curd instead.
She: what is kaya actually?
Me: kaya is like a jam made with pandan leaves (proceed to show her how does pandan look like and where can she finds them).
She: I had kaya toast at Gardens By The Bay this morning and it taste like NOTHING!
Me: aiya... I m sold out. Nvm tmr i will have a fresh batch, you must come back to try...
