I've just returned home from ZodiaCon 2025, while many of you are still en route. If you were there, then you'll know what I mean. If you weren't, well, you definitely missed out! For me, it was probably the best ZodiaCon ever. It was physically demanding — I'm an old gelding nowadays, not a young, energetic stallion — but it was still a great event.
First of all, I would like to thank my orgateam. Namely, in alphabetical order: Canus, Mbili and Sigmar. And the rising stars of a new generation: Nil and Tula. They had blue badges (for the last time), but they helped a lot. I'm lucky to have such a great team of... well, not exactly people, but that's why we're ZodiaCon — we're referring to the zodiac in the literal sense of 'a circle of animals'.
We're weird.
Of course, furries are kind of weird by default. But ZodiaCon is a weird con even for furry standards. It doesn't have many of the events that are staples of general furry conventions, such as furdance and art shows. However, it has its own unique aspects. There are the technical events, of course, but it's mainly the overall vibe. You're welcome to join an impromptu jam session with the bar staff (thanks, Johnny, Zaire and others), an impromptu tabletop gaming session (you know who you are, I don't — everybody knows I'm bad with faces), or a nine-hour public D&D Beast World play session. The latter was not exactly impromptu (thanks again, Sigmar), but I was still surprised by how many people sat with us and observed our adventures in the casino of the gambling god Varasta. Thank you for the two incredible games of Truth or Dare in both Czech and English — they were spicy yet tasteful. We got more dares in one year than in the entire history of ZodiaCon.
This was ZodiaCon's thirteenth year. We went through all the signs of the Western zodiac and started with the Celtic one (which is kind of fitting because we are near the old Celtic village of Nasavrky). We could have ended after twelve years with honours, but we decided to continue, and I'm very glad we did.
You are welcome to join us again. The next convention is TechFurMeet from 12th to 15th February 2026. The next ZodiaCon will take place from 3rd to 7th June 2026. I'm really looking forward to it!

| 4 | 🇨🇿 Bylo to úžasné!
Právě jsem se vrátil domů ze ZodiaConu 2025, zatímco mnozí z vás jsou ještě na cestě. Pokud jste tam byli, pak víte, co mám na mysli. Pokud ne, tak jste rozhodně o něco přišli! Pro mě to byl pravděpodobně nejlepší ZodiaCon vůbec. Bylo to fyzicky náročné – dneska už jsem starý valach, ne mladý, energický hřebec – ale i tak to byla skvělá akce.
Nejprve bych chtěl poděkovat svému orgateamu. Jmenovitě, v abecedním pořadí: Canusovi, Mbili a Sigmarovi. A také vycházejícím hvězdám nové generace: Nilovi a Tule. Měli modré visačky (naposledy), ale hodně pomohli. Mám štěstí, že mám tak skvělý tým... no, ne zrovna lidí, ale proto jsme ZodiaCon – odkazujeme na zvěrokruh v doslovném smyslu „kruhu zvířat“.
Jsme divní.
Samozřejmě, furries jsou už od přírody divní. Ale ZodiaCon je divný con i na furry poměry. Neobsahuje mnoho aktivit, které jsou běžnou součástí furry conů, jako jsou furdance a art show. Má však své vlastní jedinečné aspekty. Samozřejmě jsou tu technické akce, ale hlavně jde o celkovou atmosféru. Můžete se připojit k improvizované jam session s obsluhou baru (díky, Johnny, Zaire a ostatní), improvizované stolní hře (vy víte, kdo jste, já ne – všichni vědí, že mám špatnou paměť na tváře) nebo k devítihodinové veřejné hře D&D Beast World. Ta poslední nebyla zrovna improvizovaná (ještě jednou díky, Sigmare), ale i tak mě překvapilo, kolik lidí se k nám posadilo a sledovalo naše dobrodružství v kasinu boha hazardu Varasty. Díky za dvě neuvěřitelné hry Truth or Dare v češtině i angličtině – byly pikantní, ale vkusné. A za jeden rok jsme měli více fantů než za celou historii ZodiaConu.
Toto byl třináctý ročník ZodiaConu. Prošli jsme všechna znamení západního zvěrokruhu a začali jsme keltským (což je docela příhodné, protože se nacházíme poblíž starého keltského hradiště Nasavrky). Mohli jsme po dvanácti letech skončit se ctí, ale rozhodli jsme se pokračovat a jsem velmi rád, že jsme tak učinili.
Zveme vás, abyste se k nám opět připojili. Příští con bude TechFurMeet od 12. do 15. února 2026. Příští ZodiaCon se bude konat od 3. do 7. června 2026. Moc se na to těším!
