🔥Measles (rubeola)🔥
is viral disease , start with fever gradually increase during the first 4 days to reach 40 C with the appearance of the rash.
📌Maculopapular rash appears on day 4 or 5 ,it start in the face and within 2 days it cover the whole body (reach the feet while still in the face). It fades in the same order of disribution over the next 3 days ..
Koplik spot is pathognomonic features of measles (appear before the onset of the rash ) and remain for one or two days .
Prevention :
+Measles vaccine +vitamin A single dose with the vaccine (immune enhancer).
Treatment : Symptomatic e.g. eye care - care of feeding - antibiotics for 2ry infection.
- vitamin A --- 100.000-200.000 IU single oral dose reduce measles morbidity in malnourished ,immunodeficiency and in infants aged 6 months - 2 years
