ā Dal is a lake in Srinagar, the capital of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Dal Lake is a misnomer as Dal in Kashmiri means lake.
ā It is integral to tourism and recreation in Kashmir and is named the āJewel in the crown of Kashmirā or āSrinagarās Jewelā.
ā It is also an important source for commercial operations in fishing and water plant harvesting.
ā It covers an area of 18 square kilometres and is part of a natural wetland including its floating gardens.
ā The floating gardens, known as āRaadā in Kashmiri, blossom with lotus flowers during July and August.
ā The wetland is divided by causeways into four basins; Gagribal, Lokut Dal, Bod Dal and Nagin. Lokut-dal and Bod-dal each have an island in the centre, known as Rup Lank (or Char Chinari) and Sona Lank respectively.
ā The houseboats (Shikaras) are closely associated with Dal Lake which provide accommodation to tourists in Srinagar.

ā Dhebar Lake (also known as Jaisamand Lake) is India's first and world's second oldest historical and largest artificial sweet water lake.
ā It is located in the Udaipur District of Rajasthan State in western India.
ā It is about 45.0 km from the district headquarters of Udaipur. When first built, it was the largest artificial lake in the world.
ā The surrounding Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary around Dhebar Lake can be reached by the state highway to Banswara from Udaipur.
ā It is about 17.0 km from Salumbar.
ā Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary protects about 162.0 square kilometres, mostly teak forest, on the shores of Dhebar Lake.
ā The lake has three islands measuring from 10 to 40 acres each.
ā The Dhebar Lake Marble Dam is 300.0 m (984.3 ft) long and is a part of the "Heritage Monuments of India".
