On 10 May 1919, Indians in Berlin met at the Klindworth-Scharwenka Conservatory in Charlottenburg to commemorate the 1857 revolt. At the meeting, it was decided that Acharya should go to Moscow to meet Lenin.

I saw this photo of a soldier of the Infanterie-Regiment 950 (Indisches) & hadn’t realised that 4,500 Indians joined the Indian Legion! Nor did I realise that they later served as Indische Freiwilligen Legion der Waffen-SS. Fought in Berlin in 1945. 📷 Electric Colour
