Resharing this
After prelims this year, I met Shubham Kumar (AIR 1), 2020
He allowed me to ask a variety of questions on a one to one basis, at his residence, for 2 long hours. Greatful to him. 🙏
{He took Bihar Cadre, hence it was possible for me}
He is a practical man, who gave me valuable guidelines. Sharing those with you.
Regarding GS
1. Practice answer writing for better marks.
2. GS 3 requires a lot of facts and data. Keep mastering them. Do the same for other GS as well.
3. Essay should be written every Sunday.
4. Write two test series.
For the core syllabus consolidation, get the Vision IAS.
For dynamic and analytical understanding get Forum IAS.
Subscribe to anyone of the both. The rest one may get from the telegram group.
5. Follow a proper routine for effective learning sessions.
6. Power naps are important. Learn them.
7. Get away from negative people and families for a temporary moment.
8. Having emotional support from family helps.
9. Group of 3, helps in preparation. Try to support each other in such groups.
==========
Regarding Interview
Learn to speak in brief. One can be inspired by Dr. S Jaishankar.
Master confident speaking skill. One way is to speak in front of the mirror, or teach in coaching institutes or home tuition.
==========
Regarding Newspaper
Read the Hindu for 3 months and then Indian Express for 3 months for balanced opinions.
Regarding Optional
1. The science optional is tough. Work harder.
He himself switched to Anthropology from Civil engineering depending on his interest.
2. Have genuine interest in your optional subject to score better.
