Dearly beloved GPC family, as we approach the Chinese New Year, may this season be an opportunity not only to meet with family and friends but also to share the blessing and love of God with them! Today, let's take time to pray for the salvation of our loved ones, any broken/strained/distant family relationships, and also our first Family Combined CNY service happening this Sunday. You are encouraged to pray by name for whom the following prayer points are relevant. Prayer for the salvation of our loved ones - That instead of seeking material and earthly blessings, they will come to recognise and submit to the One who brings the real blessing of salvation. - That we will speak and act in ways to be a blessing to them, behaving in a manner that sets us apart from the values of ungodly prosperity, superficial connections and greed. - For deeper and meaningful conversations, as well as opportunities and courage to tell of the love of God as we go about our CNY visitations. Prayer for broken, strained and distant family relationships - That there will be a desire for reconciliation and that this CNY will present opportune moments for affected parties to initiate acts of apology, confession, forgiveness and grace. - That a resolve to confront and repair strained relationships will be greater than the desire to reflect a semblance of harmony to outsiders. - That we may be sensitive to those who may be lonely or sad this CNY, to be hospitable to all in need. - Pray for broken and strained relationships existing within the spiritual family of the church, that God's love and grace will compel fellow believers to extend mutual love and forgiveness towards reconciliation. Prayer for our first upcoming Family Combined CNY service on 15 Feb - That we will look forward to the family combined service instead of being apprehensive, and that all the generations (seniors, adults, youth, and children) in our church community may experience the goodness and joy of worshiping God together as one big spiritual family. -That any seeming disruption from the norm or “chaos” as a result of this big gathering will not be seen as a distraction from the worship of God, but rather an opportunity to embrace one another as His people, united by the love of Christ. - That any non-believing family members and friends joining us will experience the warmth, joy, and blessing of God’s family. Dearly beloved GPC family, let us rejoice that in Christ we have received the gracious privilege of being in God's family, and let's take the opportunity to come together before our heavenly Father this evening for our Church-Wide Online Prayer @ gpc.sg/joincwop (Zoom) at 8pm! If you are unable to make the prayer meeting tonight, you can still be praying along using the following prayer points throughout the day. Today we'll be committing the biological families and the Family Ministry of GPC to God in prayer. Here's how we can be praying for those in our community playing in their various seasons of family life, as well as those serving us lovingly in the Family Ministry Committee: 1/ For Married Couples – Husbands & Wives - Pray for marriages to be rooted in Christlike love, humility, and mutual submission (Ephesians 5:22–33). - Pray for husbands to lead with sacrificial love, godly wisdom, and faithfulness. - Pray for wives to be strengthened with grace, respect, words of kindness and steadfast faith. - Pray for unity in communication, finances, parenting, and spiritual life. - Pray for protection against temptation, bitterness, and division, and for quick repentance and forgiveness. - Pray that marriages in the church may be a living testimony of the Gospel to the next generation. 2/ For Parents – Fathers & Mothers - Pray for parents to be faithful in raising their children in the fear and instruction of the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:6–7). - Pray for wisdom in disciplining with both truth and grace. - Pray for patience, perseverance, and strength amidst the pressures of work,caregiving, and schooling. - Pray for parents to model a godly life of prayer, obedience, and love before their children. - Pray for the protection of children from harmful influences from the world. 3/ For Courting Couples Preparing for Marriage - Pray that Christ would be at the centre of their relationship (Ecclesiastes4:12). - Pray for purity in thought, speech, and conduct. - Pray for clarity, honesty, and godly counsel as they prepare for lifelong commitment. - Pray for unity in faith, values, and calling. - Pray that their preparation would not merely be for a wedding day, but for a lifetime of covenant faithfulness. 4/ For Grandparents - Thanksgiving for their lives, wisdom, and spiritual legacy. - Pray for strength, peace, and good health in their later years (Isaiah 46:4). - Pray that they may continue to be examples of faithfulness and prayer to their children and grandchildren. - Pray for opportunities to speak words of encouragement, testimony, and blessing to the younger generations. - Pray for comfort, companionship, and assurance of God’s abiding presence. 5/ For Singles - Pray that singles may find their identity, worth, and contentment in Christ(Psalm 16:5–6). - Pray for wisdom and discernment in relationships and life decisions. - Pray for protection from loneliness, comparison, and worldly pressures. - Pray that singles may serve joyfully with their gifts for the edification of the church (1 Corinthians 7:32–35). - Pray for those desiring marriage, that they would wait in faith and trust in God’s perfect timing and plan. 6/ For Family Ministry Committee · Members: Sam and Eva and their children Charlotte and Joseph; Zion and Bernice and their children Miya and Miki; Chong Ann and Ah Choo and their children Daniel and Jonathan (and Jonathan's family: wife Theophilia and children Hannah, Phoebe and Joshua) - Pray that in the midst of everyday living and responsibilities, we will be able to continue serving in the Family Ministry with passion and zeal. - Pray for combined efforts with other ministries in church to jointly minister to the church members’ family focused needs Thank you for lifting up our church in prayer today. Dearly beloved GPC family, just as God dwells in us through His Spirit and continues to build His church here in GPC, let us take time today to pray for people amongst and around us, that they too will come to experience the life- and heart-transforming presence of God dwelling in them. Today, let's pray for the migrant workers in our Toh Yi community, and also for those amongst and around us experiencing grief over loss of loved ones. (If you know any one of them personally, do pray for them by name as well.) Prayer for the migrant workers: - That their daily needs will be met, as well as those of their families in their home countries, and that they will receive fair treatment from their employers. - For God's protection over them physically, especially for those working at the construction sites nearby to be kept safe from injuries (e.g. BTID project, Condo developments). - For their mental and emotional well-being even as they are away from their country and families, and that they can find community that they can feel part of. (The dormitory above Bukit Timah Interim Market houses migrant nursing students and they might feel especially homesick being away from home at a young age.) - For them to hear the gospel and experience the love of God through Christians during their time in Singapore and come to know and receive Christ. - For any Christians among them to be able to find a church community to worship with and continue growing in Christ, and be bold to share their faith with their fellow workers/friends. Prayer for those experiencing grief over loss of loved ones: - For God's peace and presence to surround and comfort them and their families in this challenging period. - That they may receive the support (both practical and emotional) needed during this period, especially from the church community (e.g. in Care Groups, Fellowships, Ministries, personal follow-up from brothers and sisters). Prayer for ourselves as individuals and as a church: - To grow in willingness and desire to take gradual steps to show hospitality to the migrant workers around us, seeking to welcome and invite them into our lives and community, so that through us they may experience the love and compassion of Christ. - That we would be generous to offer our time, presence and resources to journey alongside those who grief (whether in or outside the church), being willing to weep with those who weep. Shalom Glory Missional family & Community, Our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of dear Sis Chen Chieh Ning (wife of Rev Forest Koh) whose mother was called home to the Lord this morning (25 January) in Taiwan. She is the beloved mother-in-law of Rev Forest Koh, maternal grandmother of Joy and Young Koh. Thank you for upholding the family in your prayers during this time of bereavement. May the presence of the Lord be their source of hope and comfort in this time of loss. Help them to find strength in God's promises and to trust in His unfailing grace.

Pray that God will help to prepare you for this step of faith if you are yet to be baptised or confirmed. - Pray that we will be ready to take the initiative to form relationships and show hospitality to new members and also newcomers to make them feel welcome and connected in the body of Christ. - Pray that all of us in GPC will be ready to avail our selves (time, energy, resources, talents) gladly and generously so that the body of Christ may continue to be built up in love. He is the maternal grandfather of Mr Alvin Lim, a young adult who worships at our 11.30 service. Please refer to the above-attached Christian funeral details.
