Dearly beloved GPC, we resume our Church-Wide Online Prayer meeting again this evening (2 July). Come, let's join our hearts together in prayer as fellow brothers and sisters in God's family. See you @ gpc.sg/joincwop (Zoom) from 8-9pm! Today, we want to lift up the youths in our church, our families, and our nation. As they navigate the unique challenges of growing up in today's world, let us pray that they will be firmly rooted in Christ, protected by His grace, equipped for His purposes, and empowered by His Spirit to live as faithful disciples. If you are unable to make the prayer meeting tonight, you can still be praying along using the following prayer points at any time of the day: // Salvation and Faith •⁠ Pray that every young person will have a genuine, personal encounter with God—one that goes beyond routine or inherited faith into a vibrant, transformed relationship with Him, marked by a growing hunger for prayer, Scripture, worship, and obedience. •⁠ Pray that God will soften the hearts and open the eyes of unsaved or struggling youth in our families, church, and neighbourhoods —that they will draw closer to Him, finding truth in His Word and Christian community, and receive the Gospel in faith. // Protection and Purity •⁠ Pray that our youth will receive godly wisdom, discernment, and courage to navigate today’s pressures— including the digital world, cultural expectations, online temptations, family resistance, and social comparison— while choosing to follow Jesus faithfully. •⁠ Pray that God will bring peace, healing, and restoration to youth who are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, addiction, sexual sin, or harmful patterns, and that the church will be a safe place of grace, help, and full restoration. // Purpose and Direction •⁠ Pray that our youth will pursue things of eternal significance over worldly success, rejecting materialism, status, and self-advancement as life’s highest goals, and instead see their studies, careers, and future paths as platforms for Kingdom impact. •⁠ Pray that God will raise up young people for His purposes in every sphere, including full-time ministry, missions, church planting, and National Service—forming their character, surrounding them with godly friendships, and making them bold witnesses wherever they are. // Family and Relationships •⁠ Pray for God’s wisdom, grace, and healing over families— that parents and guardians will raise their teens in the fear of the Lord; strained relationships will be restored; youth from broken or high-pressure homes will experience comfort and stability; and that every young person will know they are loved beyond performance or achievement. •⁠ Pray that our youth will build relationships that honour God— choosing friendships that strengthen godly character and intimacy with Christ, and approaching romantic relationships with patience, purity, wisdom, and a God-centred foundation. // The Church's Role •⁠ Pray that GPC will be a Spirit-filled, disciple-making church—forming deeply rooted followers of Christ beyond programmes or events, while remaining a safe, gracious, and welcoming community where young people facing doubt, identity struggles, or mental health challenges encounter both the love and truth of Christ. •⁠ Pray that God will raise, strengthen, and empower those who disciple and lead the next generation—parents, mentors, youth leaders, pastors, teachers, care group leaders, and student missionaries—so that they serve with wisdom, joy, humility, perseverance, and boldness, equipping our youth to serve, lead, and witness for Christ now in every school, NS camp, workplace, and neighbourhood. Dearly beloved GPC family, we were reminded on Sunday that hospitality leads us to the cross and communion with God through Jesus Christ, the one who first extended divine hospitality by showing us mercy and grace. Let us respond gratefully God's generous hospitality by learning to do likewise and loving our neighbour as ourselves. Who can we be a neighbour to today? The end of June is almost here, and we give thanks to God for sustaining us through the first half of 2026. Today, let's take time to give thanks to God, and commit ourselves, our church family and ministries in prayer for the second half of the year. You can use the following points below to pray: // Thanksgiving •⁠ For how God has provided for you and your loved ones in the year so far. •⁠ For the rest that students, teachers and families have been able to have over the June school holiday break. •⁠ For the ordinary means of grace that God has given us through the church to build up His church: the preaching/teaching of His Word; the fellowship of His people; the sacraments of baptism and holy communion // Prayer for ourselves •⁠ For daily grace as we go about our activities each day, wisdom to make godly decisions and strength to persevere through trials. •⁠ To grow in the personal knowledge of God's grace and to experience the fullness of His love, that we may live lives of gratitude unto Him. •⁠ To grow as His missional disciples, being salt and light where He has placed us (in our families, schools, workplaces and social circles). // Prayer for GPC •⁠ For renewed strength for pastors, church and ministry leaders as they continue to serve in their various roles and capacities. •⁠ For renewed commitment for ministries (leaders and members) and Care Groups which took a break in June. •⁠ For increasing obedience and conformance into Christlikeness for all worshippers as they listen to the preaching of God's word •⁠ For increasing transformation through the Holy Spirit's work amongst the church into a missional community to reach others for Christ. // Prayer for the world •⁠ For the ongoing negotiations between US-Iran to reach a smooth and eventual resolution soon. •⁠ For the wars that are still ongoing around the world and places of conflict. •⁠ For God to sustain Christians and churches who are experiencing persecution around the world, and for them to shine the light of Christ's love even in their suffering. •⁠ For churches around the world to be living testimonies of love, hope and peace in a fractured and broken world. Dearly beloved GPC family, how good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters dwell in unity! (Psalm 133:1). We were reminded on Sunday that the children in our midst are also our brothers and sisters in Christ. So let us learn to love and nurture them by teaching, leading, and communing with them, welcoming them just as Jesus has welcomed us. We also thank God for the opportunity to pray for our Manna (Young Adults) Community today, specifically the Young Adult Retreat taking place in JB on 26-28 June. You can use the following points to pray: // Planning and Execution •⁠ Pray for fruitful planning of the retreat and that it may be done in a manner pleasing to God. •⁠ Pray for the retreat be spiritually-enriching and for there to be an environment that is restful and free from distractions. // Safety & Logistics •⁠ ⁠Pray for God's protection over all young adults joining, committee members, and activities throughout the retreat. •⁠ ⁠Pray for journey mercies across the border (no jam or unexpected delays) and good weather ahead of the retreat. // Fellowship & Community •⁠ ⁠Pray that the retreat will be filled with meaningful fellowship in the presence of God and fellow young adults. •⁠ Pray for delightful conversations and bonding that nourishes each individual and the community. •⁠ ⁠Pray that the retreat becomes an avenue for friendships to blossom and deepen in love and appreciation. •⁠ Pray that the the Manna Community delights in the love and presence of the Holy Spirit working in them. // Follow-Up & Lasting Fruit •⁠ ⁠Pray the retreat serves as a respite for the Manna Community spiritually, mentally and physically. •⁠ ⁠Pray that the Manna Community continues to grow in love for one another and the joy of fellowship after the retreat. Beloved GPC Missional Family, As a church family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Lim Yeow Hong, who was called home to be with the Lord on the morning of 11 June. Let us especially remember Pauline (wife), Shu Wen (daughter), Jason (son‑in‑law), and Samuel (son). May the Lord surround them with His abiding peace, strengthen them with His comfort, and assure them of His nearness in every moment of grief. Dearly beloved GPC family, Jesus invites us into a living and intimate relationship with Him. Jesus knows us truly yet fully welcomes us even when we are feeling wounded and weary, weak and failing, that we may find in Him alone rest for our souls. Let's give thanks for the wonderful and gentle grace of our Lord Jesus Christ! Let us take time today to pray for our Youth Summer Camp taking place on 20-21 June, for those who are leading and participating, and for the programs that will be taking place. You can use the following points to pray: // Attendance & Invitations • Pray that many youths would sign up for the camp and be excited to attend. • Pray that campers would have the courage to invite their friends, classmates, and neighbours who do not know Christ. • Pray that those invited will come with open hearts and minds. // Safety & Logistics • Pray for God's protection and safety over all campers, leaders, committee members, and activities throughout the camp. • Pray for good weather and smooth logistics so that programmes can run without major disruptions. // Fellowship & Community • Pray that the camp would be filled with joy, fun, and meaningful fellowship. • Pray that new friendships would be formed and that every camper would feel welcomed, included, and loved. • Pray that non-believing friends would experience genuine Christian love through the campers and leaders. • Pray that through the games, activities, and interactions, campers would become curious about God and the Christian faith. • Pray that hearts would be softened to hear the Gospel and that seeds of faith would be planted. • Pray that God would use every conversation, testimony, and message to impact lives. • Pray that the Holy Spirit would work in the hearts of every camper, drawing them closer to Christ. // Follow-Up & Lasting Fruit • Pray that the friendships built during the camp would continue thereafter. • Pray that those who attended for the first time would be interested in returning to church, joining youth fellowship, and learning more about Jesus. • Pray that the seeds planted during camp would continue to grow and bear fruit long after the camp has ended. Dearly beloved GPC family, serving one another is how God’s community reflects His wisdom to a watching world —we give thanks that God has given us His Spirit and Wisdom to help us do so as we follow Him! "How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!'" Romans 10:14-15 As the church commissioned our five mission teams 2 Sundays ago, let us serve alongside them by praying with and for them as they go, partnering God in His mission to reach the lost with the gospel of Christ. Here are some ways you can be praying for them: Mission Teams: Cambodia (30 May–6 Jun); Chiang Mai, Thailand (6–13 Jun); Mongolia (11–22 Jun); Batam, Indonesia (18–22 Jun); Hua Lian, Taiwan (2–10 Jul) Open hearts receptive to the Gospel • Pray that God will prepare and open the hearts of the people whom the teams will be interacting with, so that they will experience the love of Christ, receive His Word as truth and come to faith in Jesus in His timing. • Pray that God will guide the planning and execution of all programmes and activities so that they meet real needs and bear lasting fruit. Unity within the teams and encouragement for our mission partners • Pray that all team members will serve with love, humility, joy, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, working together in unity for God’s glory and encouraging one another throughout the trip. • Pray that the local churches and mission partners will be encouraged by the support and presence of the mission teams, and that the teams will be effective in supporting their efforts for long-term gospel outreach. Protection and smooth logistics • Pray for God’s protection over the teams, local helpers, and all activities before, during, and after the mission trips. Also for logistics arrangements to proceed smoothly (transportation, needed items, good weather etc.) For hearts of mission trippers (you can pray this for yourself too!) • Pray that God will continue to open the eyes and hearts of each mission team member to see the work that God is doing among the peoples and to grow a heart of compassion for the lost. • Pray that each team member will continue to be sensitive to how God is growing and leading them in their faith journey and obedient to where He may lead.
