The events will take place on the following dates: - Tuesday, December 10: High School students will celebrate during club time. - Friday, December 13: Kindergarten and Elementary students will join in on the festivities, along with Middle School students during their club time. Additionally, please mark your calendars for Ethiopian Culture Week from December 9-13. This week is an integral part of the Lebawi Way curriculum, and we encourage you to reflect this in your lesson plans. As you prepare for the week of December 9-13, please incorporate diverse elements of Ethiopian culture into your lessons. Homeroom and subject teachers, we ask for your support in motivating students to participate in the events. Provide them with ideas and practice opportunities to ensure they feel engaged and excited. Weekly Highlights - Week of November 18th 📢 Community Meetings 📌Over the week, in all divisions, we focused on talent identification and development. We discussed various issues and opportunities, emphasizing building confidence and knowledge sharing within our community. 🎉 UBUNTU Picnic 📌On Thursday, we had a successful and fun UBUNTU Picnic, which served as a fantastic day of integration for KG and Elementary students. Our LIA UBUNTU principle points to the notion that we are all interconnected; "I am a teacher, because there is a student: I am a student because there is a teacher". The UBUNTU picnic was a memorable, bonding experience for all participants! 📚 The Indigenous Knowledge Department 📌Launched our Book Fair and Reading Program this week, with engaging sessions; to be continued every Tuesdays and Thursdays. This week, we were thrilled to have Henock Temesgen, a talented bass guitarist, passionate musician, co-founder, and teacher at the African Jazz School in Addis Ababa, and Petros Amanuel (Peter) the amazing procussinist jam with Lebawi Voices and Al-LIA-nce band. Inspector Tadele, shift leader of LIA security team, was inducted as the trumpet player of the band; welcome Inspector! We were also graced with the presence of our Guests of Honor, the legendary Dr. Akililu Habte himself and his wife of 64 years, W/o Selamawit W/Amanuel. The LIA Friday Jam session is an open invitation to the entire school community—join us every Fridays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM @ Selam Park located at Arada Sefer, for fun and relaxation; a wonderful way to start the weekend! 📖 Quality Assurance Professional Development Office 📌 Once again, the QA department delivered an amazing training for faculty. This week's session provided an invaluable opportunity for teachers to deepen their understanding of what it means to be a "Reflective Practitioner", and learn how to deliver thoughtful lessons effectively in the classrooms. ✨ Stay tuned for more weekly updates!
